NEW: Gunman Shoots Up Insurance’s CEO’s Home In ‘Targeted’ Attack
A hooded gunman was captured on security camera footage shooting up the home of the CEO of an Oregon-based insurance company. The CEO had recently received violent threats over email.
The suspect — who is still on the loose as of this report — riddled the home of SAIF CEO Chip Terhune with bullets in the Portland suburb of Lake Oswego at about 4 a.m. this past Friday. Gunfire shattered the home’s front glass window, according to a report from local outlet KATU.
CCTV footage released by police on Wednesday shows the gunman, who was dressed in “all dark clothes with a possible hoodie or ski mask,” opening fire on the home. The suspect is also believed to have been clutching a “light-colored object” during the attack.
The gunman is believed to have fled in a vehicle that was parked nearby and is still at-large.

In a company-wide email that was obtained by Fox News, Terhune acknowledged the incident and addressed threats that were sent beforehand. “We have received an email threat purporting to be the person(s) responsible. Although it does not target any specific employee, the email references knowledge of employee and relatives’ names and addresses,” he wrote.
The CEO went on to urge employees at the not-for-profit insurance firm to remain vigilant and be aware of their surroundings when out in public, adding that the company is currently in contact with investigators. “Law enforcement is working diligently to investigate this matter and asked that we not share any additional specific information about the actual email,” Terhune added.
The latest incident comes just month after UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was gunned down in a targeted assassination outside a Manhattan hotel. Luigi Mangione, the accused gunman who is currently awaiting trial for murder, allegedly left a manifesto reading, “Deny. Defend. Depose.”
Mangione has become a cult hero to far-left extremists and has acknowledged this fact in a GoFundMe link for his legal defense. Dozens of left-wing activists have shown up to his court proceedings, while copycat groups and figures have referenced his manifesto in calling for additional violence against CEO’s and “fascists.”
In the Portland area — a longtime hotbed of far-left extremism — threatening signs in reference to the UnitedHealthcare killing have popped up in recent weeks. Signs reading “Eat The CEO’s” and “Deny. Defend. Depose,” have become a common sight around the city and surrounding suburbs since the murder, according to independent reporter Kevin Dahlgren.
