NEW: Ilhan Omar Raked Over The Coals For Calling America ‘One Of The Worst’ Countries

“Squad” Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-MN) is at it again, this time ignoring her home state’s deadly tragedy while taking the fight to President Donald Trump over his crusade to root out rioters and illegal immigrants from Los Angeles.

Comparing her upbringing in Somalia to the U.S., the progressive declared her new country “one of the worst” on earth as a result of efforts by the Trump administration to restore order in a city the president has referred to as “lawless” since rioting began two weeks ago. The deployment of California National Guardsmen and U.S. Marines has mostly kept the peace since last week, but the cost to a free society is enormous, Omar countered.

“I grew up in a dictatorship, and I don’t even remember ever witnessing anything like that,” she said on a far-left talkshow.

“To have a democracy — a beacon of hope for the world — to now be turned into one of the, you know, one of the worst countries where the military are in our streets without any regard for people’s constitutional rights, while our president is spending millions of dollars propping himself up like a failed dictator.”

Omar fled war-torn Somalia in the 1990s, entering the U.S. illegally as a child before securing asylum status and eventually a green card. She obtained her citizenship in 2000.

Her crusade in defense of illegal immigrants comes days after Minnesota authorities arrested a deranged gunman for killing one state lawmaker and her husband while critically wounding another and his wife. Even before the assailant was captured, Omar had turned her attention to Israel’s fight with Iran on social media, indicating her desire to keep criticizing Trump in the face of a national tragedy.

“It is shocking and it should be a wake up call to all Americans to say this is not the country we were born in,” said Omar, who was born in Somalia.

Critics online denounced Omar’s broadside against the U.S., defending Trump’s deployment of troops to L.A. and questioning whether she even wants to remain here.

“I’ll pay for her one way ticket home to Somalia,” one X user wrote.

“And yet she’s still here,” added a second, adding a clown emoji face.

“Deport her, problem solved,” chimed in a third.

Calls to deport Omar aren’t without merit. The U.S. Department of Justice announced earlier this year that it is launching a renewed investigation into claims that Omar married her biological brother in order to shield him from deportation during the 2000s. Omar later divorced him, but a source within the Minnesota Somali community claims that she sought out a Christian pastor to officiate the marriage because those around her knew the man was her brother.

As a result, Republicans in Congress have taken early steps to encourage Omar’s deportation. Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX) in March circulated an online petition where he called on followers to sign in support of the Trump administration deporting the “Squad” member.

Gill has not reported any updates about the petition since its launch.
