NEW: Jasmine Crockett’s ‘Hood’ Persona Disintegrated By Jaw-Dropping Exposé
Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) has framed her rise to the halls of power as a burdensome one. Her brand has relied heavily on her story of a disadvantaged background. But a new investigation is raising doubts about the hardscrabble upbringing she’s long described.
Conservative influencer Benny Johnson traveled to Crockett’s new hometown of Houston, Texas, where he alleged she has been “code-switching” by adopting linguistic inflections and a street-fighting attitude that clashes with her pampered childhood.
Crockett was born in the “Republican suburbs” of St. Louis, Missouri, complete with the “mansions, country clubs, and private schools” that signal a far cry from the persona she’s adopted today, Johnson explains in a new investigative report.
From manicured lawns to prep schools and college brochures in the mail, Crockett was born with a silver spoon in her mouth, he goes on. Nothing exemplified her privilege more than St. Mary Country Day School, where she was enrolled by her parents, Rev. Joseph and Gwen Crockett.
“It’s one of the most prestigious institutions in the entire country. Also, one of the most expensive,” Johnson reveals, showing that St. Mary’s costs $35,000 per year to attend. Its high test scores “guarantee placement in an elite college,” he adds.
Olympic-sized tennis courts, swimming pools, and lacrosse fields adorn the school’s campus. Inside, Crockett “learned to play clarinet” in St. Mary’s music program, according to Johnson.
Her rigorous studies and extracurricular activities allowed Crockett to attend Rhodes College, which boasts a $74,000 annual tuition today. Later, she graduated from the University of Houston Law Center, which helped nestle her in the district that she would go on to represent in Congress.
It was during this time that Crockett’s alter ego began to emerge, Johnson claims.
“It wasn’t always that Jasmine used to talk like a hoodrat,” he tells viewers. “For most of her life, Jasmine talked like this,” playing a clip of Crockett sporting a 1950s-style hairdo and lacking any trace of the ebonics-infused street talk she’s become known for burnishing today.
With Crockett now polling in the high single digits for president in 2028, “Jasmine Crockett’s life story is not the condemnation of racism in America, but the true definition of obscene American privilege that anyone, from anywhere, can be or do anything,” Johnson says.

But her meteoric rise has brought the knives out for Crockett, including by some of her former staffers who allege she is a “monster” when the cameras are off.
A source close to Crockett added, “It is widely known that she’s not nice to staff and is just not a really dedicated member focused on constituents.”
“She is focused almost exclusively on being an influencer, not a member of Congress,” said a third person familiar with how Crockett behaves when the cameras are off, calling her “all diva, no wow.”
