NEW: Notorious Democrat Mayor Loses Primary Race By 76 Points
Tiffany Henyard, the scandal-ridden Democrat mayor of Dolton, Illinois, has been decisively ousted by voters in a brutal primary loss, marking the end of her controversial tenure.
Henyard, who once dubbed herself a “super mayor,” faced a political reckoning on Tuesday as she lost to village Trustee Jason House by a staggering margin. House secured nearly 88% of the vote, while Henyard managed a paltry 12%, according to Cook County election results.
With all precincts reporting as of Wednesday, House received 3,896 votes (87.91%) compared to Henyard’s 536 votes (12.09%). In total, 4,446 ballots were cast—just over 26% of the suburb’s 16,506 registered voters according to WGN9.
Henyard’s downfall comes after more than a year of controversy, including allegations of corruption, extravagant spending, and an out-of-touch leadership style that alienated many of her constituents. Voters appeared to have had enough, handing her a crushing defeat in the Democratic primary.
Her time in office has been marked by lawsuits, accusations of misusing taxpayer funds, and public outcry over her questionable decisions. Despite positioning herself as an unstoppable force, her overwhelming rejection at the polls shows that voters weren’t buying it.

Henyard visited a voting site on Tuesday morning and confidently expressed her expectation of winning reelection. She made her entrance noticeable by playing a campaign song titled “We the People,” which blared from her car stereo.
“Well, I see no competition, so when I come in with a landslide this evening, [it will] be so great,” Henyard told the media on Tuesday, according to FOX32. “Y’all can all come to the after party and we can talk about it.”
“Come be part of me making history once again,” she wrote on Facebook. “I’m calling for my base, I’m calling for all the people that love the super mayor, who say you support me, I need you to show up and show out.”
Henyard was notably absent from her election-night party on Tuesday despite her earlier statements predicting a victory.

“The people have spoken,” she told WGN after the election. “God must have a different plan.”
Jason House, the newly chosen Democratic nominee, is now poised to take over the mayor’s office. His landslide victory suggests that residents are eager for a fresh start after chaos under Henyard’s leadership.
“Not only is Ms. Henyard depriving the public of what they deserved, it’s costing the village money, so day one, every record will be turned over,” House said Tuesday. “We’ve already started demonstrating that by making it a lot easier and residents will get the service they deserve.”
Henyard had faced mounting scandals, with the latest being a chaotic town board meeting where she physically joined a brawl involving her boyfriend and local activist, Jedidiah Brown. The fight, sparked by a verbal attack on Henyard, led to a dramatic melee caught on camera, including the mayor losing her wig.
Former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s investigation revealed severe financial mismanagement under Henyard, including unauthorized village credit card purchases exceeding $170,000 on travel, $51,000 on restaurants, and $218,000 in Amazon spending. Dolton’s financial health plunged from a $5.61 million surplus in 2022 to a $3.65 million deficit by 2024.
Adding to her troubles, Henyard battled an eviction lawsuit over unpaid rent and faces a federal grand jury investigation. A Cook County judge blocked her appointments of key officials in 2024, ruling them unauthorized.
