NEW: Prominent Conservative Commentator Targeted In Shooting Incident
Prominent conservative political commentator Tim Pool announced in a social media post on Saturday that an unknown individual showed up at his property late Friday night and proceeded to open fire.
“Last night a vehicle approached our property and opened fire. No one was hurt,” Pool posted on X. Pool added that his security team is reviewing the incident and will be providing all relevant information to law enforcement.
“This is the price we pay for speaking out against evil.” In a follow-up post, Pool shared his immediate thought that it was someone “trying to scare us.”
“But we have a security gate and armed guards and it’s possible this deterred something more serious,” he followed up.
The West Virginia State Police told Trending Politics News that as of this report, neither they nor the the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office had received a report on the incident.

Pool hosts a daily roundtable show, “Timcast IRL,” which currently boasts more than 2.5 million subscribers on YouTube. The show features a rotating lineup of hosts and has featured some of the biggest names in the right wind political space as guests.
The host also broadcasts five additional shows from his West Virginia studio, creates music and sells skateboards.
A number of prominent conservative officials and personalities offered support after Pool’s announcement. “This is awful, Tim. I’m so sorry this happened. Things are getting out of control and it’s happening more frequently. Praying for your safety,” said fellow commentator Megyn Kelly.
“This is terrifying. I’m glad everyone is okay,” said U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA). “Everyone must stand together against this type of political violence and intimidation. No matter who it happens to. Whether you like them or not.”
The latest incident follows a string of high-profile instances of political violence targeting conservative and Trump Administration figures. Most notably, prominent conservative organizer Charlie Kirk was shot and killed by a far-left extremist while speaking with college students at Utah Valley University on September 10.
President Donald Trump was also the target of two high-profile assassination attempts last summer, while a number of attacks targeting federal immigration agents over the last several months. Most recently, a man was arrested for allegedly lobbing Molotov cocktails at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in California.
All told, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has reported a 1,150 percent increase in violent attacks targeting federal agents since last year.
