NEW: Prominent Liberal Fired After Calling For Violence Against ICE
The Chicago college staffer who called for an armed uprising against President Trump’s administration is out of a job — and possibly facing federal charges.
Moises Bernal Puentes, a self-styled “No Kings” agitator, was caught on camera spewing violent threats at a left-wing protest in Chicago’s Grant Park, demanding his fellow radicals “grab a gun” and start firing on federal agents.
“You gotta grab a gun. We gotta turn around the guns on this fascist system. These ICE agents gotta get shot and wiped out,” Puentes shouted during the October 18 “Hands Off Chicago/No Kings” demonstration.
“This same machinery that’s on full display right there has to get wiped out,” he bellowed, as Progressive Labor Party members — a communist group that says it aims to “destroy capitalism” — cheered him on.
By Thursday, Wilbur Wright College had canned Puentes from his role as Adult Education Manager.
“The individual is not employed by Wilbur Wright College or any affiliated colleges. Our college system does not tolerate violence nor incitement under any circumstances,” spokeswoman Veronica Resa told the Wright Times.
The student newspaper noted that City Colleges of Chicago employees can be fired immediately for “egregious conduct,” including any acts or threats of violence.
But Puentes’ problems didn’t end with losing his job. The Department of Homeland Security confirmed last week that he’s now under a federal probe for his incendiary call to arms.
“During the Chicago NO KINGS rally this previous weekend, violent rioters called for the cold-blooded murder of ICE agents,” DHS said in a statement on X. “This rioter, and his statements have been referred to the DOJ.”
The agency added a warning that sounded more like a promise: “There is no place in America for psychotic incitements of unlawful violence against ICE or CBP. To those who threaten violence against us: we will hunt you down, we will find you, and Justice will be served.”
Puentes wasn’t the only unhinged activist to make headlines that day. Footage from the same rally showed other far-left demonstrators joking about killing President Trump and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.
One woman — later identified as Lucy Martinez, a teacher at Nathan Hale Elementary School — was filmed laughing and mimicking a gunshot to her neck as she mocked Kirk’s assassination.
Her school later confirmed her identity, saying her behavior didn’t “reflect the professionalism and respect we expect from our staff,” adding that the matter “has been addressed internally.”
As of Monday morning, Martinez was still on the payroll.
