NEW: ‘Squad’ Rep. Under Fire For Admitting She’s Rooting Against America

Far-left Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) admitted that she’s cheering for Canada and Mexico over the United States, drawing swift backlash for what critics are calling outright anti-American rhetoric.

The progressive lawmaker, a close ally of the radical “Squad,” openly declared her support for foreign nations while slamming the U.S. under President Donald Trump.

“The fact that I’m rooting for Canada and I’m rooting for Mexico a lot is really wild,” Crockett said on The Breakfast Club. “But they are really the ones that are speaking truth to power right now… They can see what it is, and they were like, ‘We are not messing with this crazy regime from Mar-a-Lago and basically calling them thugs.’”

Crockett, who has frequently taken aim at conservatives, went on to justify her comments by suggesting that America brought this on itself.

“That’s what it is, but I’m like, y’all knew who he was when y’all elected him, so don’t act surprised,” she continued.

Crockett’s comments are just the latest in a long history of radical statements from “Squad” members. Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) have faced fierce backlash for anti-Israel rhetoric, while Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) has called for defunding the police even as crime spirals out of control in her district.

“People don’t understand,” said Crockett during her Wednesday interview on The View, where she criticized President Trump’s approach to governance, claiming he is attempting to “get rid of the Constitution … with a pen.”

“You will understand when those hospitals in rural America start closing down even more. You will understand when you don’t have your Social Security. You will understand when your Medicaid, your Medicare, goes away,” claimed Crockett. “You will understand as planes continue to fall out of the sky.”

“We know that, typically, when people are feeling it, especially in the economy, they tend to just go the other way. The problem is that this wasn’t the guy to fix anything. This is the guy that is the king of breaking things,” she argued.

Crockett, a Democrat from Texas, has been involved in several controversies during her political career.

In May 2024, during a House Oversight Committee hearing, tensions escalated between Crockett and Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA). Greene made remarks about Democratic members, leading Crockett to criticize Greene’s behavior, calling her a “butch” and questioning the committee’s standards.

In November, Crockett faced criticism for remarks made during discussions on the “Dismantle DEI Act.” She argued that white men in the U.S. haven’t faced oppression comparable to other groups.

If cheering against America is her thing, maybe Jasmine Crockett should take her talents to Canada or Mexico permanently.
