NEW: Tim Walz Under Fire After Aggressively Yanking His Son’s Arm In Bizarre Video

An otherwise celebratory night for Democrats was briefly interrupted on Wednesday as Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz appeared to aggressively yank his special needs son close to him while the family appeared onstage.

The final night of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago was capped off with Vice President Kamala Harris accepting her party’s nod for president with Walz as her running mate. The progressive duo brought their immediate families on stage with them as confetti rained down, and all appeared to be well. But the night before, close observers noted that Walz was manhandling his son, who is neurodivergent, to stick closer to the family on the stage. The midwestern governor appeared far from nice after his speech, scowling as he tugged on the arm of Gus, 17, who has both a nonverbal learning disorder and an anxiety disorder.

Commentators raced to either justify or condemn Gov Walz’s action toward a boy who earlier in the night was spotted dabbing his teary eyes and pointing lovingly at his father from the crowd. Critics called it par for the course by a politician they say has misrepresented his military service and repeated the false claim that his wife used IVF to conceive. “You just saw the REAL fake coach Tim Walz for who he is, an absolutely disgusting and sorry excuse for a human being,” one X user wrote. Another said he suspects the whole family knows. “Narcissistic, controlling POS. So many skeletons in that closet! His wife looks beat down.”

Others said they suspect Waltz, who rose from a congressman to Minnesota’s governor in 2018, is not the friendly, salt-of-the-earth man he projects to the world. “Imagine how he treats him in private,” one person replied. One user, a nurse, wrote that she has guardianship of her older brother suffering from his own disorders. “I cannot imagine treating him that way,” she wrote in shock.

Last night, Harris delivered a bombastic speech that swung broadsides at former President Donald Trump before turning toward a unifying message about her nonpartisan oath to the Constitution and promises to work with lawmakers across the ideological spectrum. “Our nation with this election has a precious, fleeting opportunity to move past the bitterness, cynicism, and divisive battles of the past,” Harris said, the AP reported. “A chance to chart a new way forward. Not as members of any one party or faction, but as Americans.”

President Trump responded shortly after her speech, calling into Fox News and bashing the vice president for a lack of record to run on after three and a half years in the White House. “All of these things that she talked about — ‘We are going to do this, we are going to do that, we are going to do everything’ — but she didn’t do any of it!” Mr. Trump said on the air, complaining that “she didn’t talk about China, she didn’t talk about fracking, she didn’t talk about crime.” In a series of stream-of-consciousness late-night posts, Trump poked holes in Harris’s claims that America has made progress under President Joe Biden. “SHE HAS LED US INTO FAILING NATION STATUS!” he wrote on Truth Social at 11:12 p.m. Less than a minute later, he added, “She didn’t mention China, she didn’t mention fracking, she didn’t mention Energy, she didn’t mention, meaningfully, Russia and Ukraine, she didn’t mention the big subjects of the day, that are destroying our Country. There are 60 million people in poverty in the U.S., under their watch, and she doesn’t even talk about them!”

On Friday morning he declared, “I LOVE THE NEW YORK POST!” and shared a copy of the paper’s splash page mocking Harris, Biden, and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi with an Oscar-themed cartoon meant to serve as a dig at their acting abilities.
