NEW: Trump Accuses Kamala Harris Of Potential Criminal Conduct
President Donald Trump suggested that former Vice President Kamala Harris may be guilty of criminal conduct due to a number of questionable financial moves made during her presidential campaign last year.
In a Truth Social post, Trump revealed that he was “looking at the large amount of money” the Democrats owed after the 2024 presidential election. The Harris Campaign and allied Democratic Party organizations did indeed end the campaign cycle with tens-of-millions of dollars in debt despite record-setting fundraising numbers relative to the brevity of the campaign.
The president went on to reference the Harris Campaign’s strategy of hiring celebrities to perform pre-rally concerts in order to give the appearance of enthusiasm, including the infamous incident in which Beyonce Knowles was rumored to perform at a rally in her native Houston but ultimately never did. Throngs of “Harris supporters” were seen streaming out of the arena once news broke that Beyonce would not be performing.
“I’m looking at the large amount of money owed by the Democrats, after the Presidential Election, and the fact that they admit to paying, probably illegally, Eleven Million Dollars to singer Beyoncé for an ENDORSEMENT (she never sang, not one note, and left the stage to a booing and angry audience!), Three Million Dollars for ‘expenses,'” the president posted on Truth Social. He also pointed to similar instances involving Oprah Winfrey and Al Sharpton, both of whom were paid lofty sums for what Trump described as “absolutely nothing!”
“These ridiculous fees were incorrectly stated in the books and records. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PAY FOR AN ENDORSEMENT. IT IS TOTALLY ILLEGAL TO DO SO. Can you imagine what would happen if politicians started paying for people to endorse them. All hell would break out!” the post continued.
“Kamala, and all of those that received Endorsement money, BROKE THE LAW. They should all be prosecuted! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
Kamala Harris raised over $1 billion for her 2024 presidential campaign in less than 80 days, from July 21, 2024, when she became the Democratic nominee, to early October 2024. This included $81 million in the first 24 hours after then-President Joe Biden’s withdrawal, $310 million in July, $361 million in August, and $378 million in September.
Her campaign, along with allied Democratic groups, raised a total of about $2.9 billion for the 2024 election cycle. All in all, Harris became the first U.S. presidential candidate to raise more than one-billion-dollars in less than 80 days.
Despite the record-setting fundraising haul, the Harris-Walz Campaign and allied Democratic Party groups ended the cycle with tens-of-millions of dollars in debt. The DNC, which worked hand in glove with the Harris campaign following her coronation at the party’s August convention, went so far as to beg their own supporters to pay off the debt through a GoFundMe link.
