NEW: Trump Earns Another Major GOP Endorsement

on

Former President Donald Trump has earned yet another major endorsement from a prominent member of the Republican Party. Former Congressman Lee Zeldin of New York took to Twitter Monday to publicly pledge his full support for Trump’s potential run for the presidency in 2024.

“The GOP is filled with amazing talent to save our country from the failed policies of the Biden Admin. Our nominee in 2024 will be the 45th & 47th POTUS, Donald Trump. Our economy will be stronger, our streets will be safer, & our lives will be freer. He has my full support!” wrote Zeldin in his tweet.

Zeldin’s endorsement adds to a growing list of high-profile Republicans who have thrown their weight behind Trump’s potential 2024 bid. Trump is currently the large favorite to win the Republican nominee. The next closest is Ron DeSantis, who has yet to announce if he is running or not.

Zeldin was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2014 and had been re-elected several times. Prior to his political career, he served in the U.S. Army Reserve and worked as a lawyer.

Last week, former Miami Mayor and now-GOP Congressman Carlos Gimenez also announced his endorsement of  Trump as well, stating that Trump “gives us the best chance of winning.”

Gimenez cited Trump’s solid track record as president and his strong plan for the future of America as reasons for his endorsement.
