JUST IN: Trump Orders Bondi To Unseal Epstein Grand Jury Files

Responding to pressure from his base, President Donald Trump moved swiftly Thursday night to unseal additional documents in the Epstein files, directing U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi to explore what else may be releasable to the public.

The action amounts to a stunning reversal by Trump after two weeks of relentless blowback to a decision by Bondi and the U.S. Justice Department to effectively close down the investigation and not pursue any further charges in the case.

Bondi is expected to ask a federal judge on Friday to authorize the release of grand jury testimony, which may shed new light on victim statements, evidence against Jeffrey Epstein, and the identities of any powerful individuals in his orbit.

Trump found himself on the receiving end when the Wall Street Journal reported on a “bawdy” birthday letter he allegedly sent Epstein in 2003 with a crude doodle of a naked woman and an unsigned poem wishing his friend “many secrets” in the years ahead. The president is quoted in the story denying every claim and threatening to sue the news outlet — and perhaps even its owner, Rupert Murdoch.

Citing “the ridiculous amount of publicity given to Jeffrey Epstein,” Trump declared he has “asked Attorney General Pam Bondi to produce any and all pertinent Grand Jury testimony, subject to Court approval.”

“This SCAM, perpetuated by the Democrats, should end, right now!”

The request falls short of bipartisan calls for a complete release of all investigative files and transcripts collected as part of the government’s investigation into Epstein, who died in a New York jail cell in 2019 while awaiting charges on underage sex trafficking. Ghislaine Maxwell, his co-conspirator, is currently serving a 20-year sentence on related charges.

“President Trump — we are ready to move the court tomorrow to unseal the grand jury transcripts,” Bondi replied on social media later Thursday night, underscoring the urgency with which the administration is working to beat back furor from its MAGA base.

The DOJ last week stunned longtime advocates for transparency in the case when it declared that no “client list” of powerful sex perverts was ever held by Epstein and that no one else would be charged based on the evidence. In response, longtime allies of the president, from conservative influencers to members of Congress, revolted, accusing him, Bondi, and FBI Director Kash Patel of reneging on a long-held promise for full disclosure.

Since then, Trump has rebutted those allegations with his own fury, accusing “stupid” supporters of falling for a “hoax” perpetuated by Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and former FBI leaders.

Hundreds of documents in Epstein’s case were released last year, including flight logs which appeared to show Trump riding in his plane alongside other high-profile names such as former President Bill Clinton and Microsoft founder Bill Gates, the NY Post reported.

Trump maintained that he severed ties with Epstein years ago and had not spoken with him since his 2007 conviction on soliciting underage girls for prostitution.

He wrote Friday morning: “If there was a ‘smoking gun’ on Epstein, why didn’t the Dems, who controlled the ‘files’ for four years, and had Garland and Comey in charge, use it? BECAUSE THEY HAD NOTHING!!!”
