NEW: Trump Kicks Off Enormous Midterms Spending Blitz With First Ad Buy

President Donald Trump said Friday in the Oval Office that he is allocating roughly $400 million to $500 million from his super PAC for the November midterm elections. While speaking with reporters, Trump described the funds available through his MAGA Inc. PAC and outlined how they would be used to support Republican candidates.

“I think I have like a close to a billion dollars in the super PAC and I’m allocating probably four or five hundred million dollars,” Trump said. “We’re going to spend a lot of money because we don’t want to lose our country.”

He added that he would make contributions to campaigns of “people that I think are good, Republicans that I think are good, people that I think are going to win and can win or are close to winning.”

Trump emphasized that he will have control over the resources as opposed to having to rely solely on congressional fundraising PACs. “I’m gonna spend whatever amount of money necessary to try and help us,” he said. “This is my money that I control. Now, this is separate from the RNC. It’s separate from people having money. And I think it’s not even counted in terms of the media. I’m not sure that they ever talk about it. They just found out about it. But yeah, we have around a billion dollars that I can spend. I can spend for the next race also. I can spend it for what I want to spend it for, but I’m going to help a lot of the congressmen and senators that need help.”

He went on to note that unused funds could be preserved for 2028 or other future races. “I could use it for ’28 if I want. … I expect to have money left over and we can use that for ’28,” Trump added.

Federal Election Commission records show MAGA Inc. reported about $403 million in cash on hand as of July 31. The group has spent roughly $21 million since the start of 2025, including about $1.7 million on independent expenditures. Prior expenditures included nearly $830,000 to support Sen. Darline Graham in a South Carolina Republican primary runoff.

An affiliated nonprofit, Securing American Greatness, also placed a $1 million national ad buy focused on Trump’s record that began airing around the start of September.

Some advertising reservations and buys have already occurred. On Saturday, MAGA Inc. filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission showing a $10 million expenditure on television and digital advertisements in the Texas Senate race. The buy supports Republican nominee Ken Paxton against Democrat James Talarico and represents the group’s first major general-election spending in a high-profile contest.

When a reporter asked Friday when MAGA Inc. would begin spending on Paxton, Trump replied, “We already did.”

Trump has separately stated that he intends to campaign personally in the closing weeks. At a White House Rose Garden dinner with Republican lawmakers on September 2, the president announced plans to campaign for 30 consecutive days down the final stretch of the cycle.

“I’m going to take the final 30 days, maybe a little bit more than that, because it’s all about 35 races. I’m going to go to every one of those 35 places, and we’re going to see if we can get everyone elected,” he said, adding that emphasis would be placed on the most competitive races. Trump did not provide full details on his campaign plans, though he did single out the Senate races in Texas and Alaska as top priorities.
