NEW: Trump Vindicated As New Poll Shows Resounding Support Amid Israel-Iran Conflict

Wartime is often good for the political fortunes of those in office, and that’s proving to be true for President Donald Trump as well.

Despite the unpopularity of any future foreign wars, U.S. voters are strongly supportive of Trump’s belief that Iran must be prevented from developing a nuclear bomb at all costs.

Voters were asked by Insider Advantage if they believe President Trump should take “all necessary” steps to halt Iran’s military nuclear program, and the results were a resounding 74.4% who agreed. Just 22.9% disagreed while another 2.7% were undecided or had no opinion.

The poll comes as a slew of others show how war-weary America has become more than two decades after former President George W. Bush first launched the War on Terror, careening the U.S. into Afghanistan and Iraq. Today, Americans oppose war with Iran by a 20-point margin, 45% to 25%, while 30% told the Washington Post they are unsure.

However, self-described MAGA voters are unequivocally on Trump’s side if he chooses to drop the first U.S. bomb.

J.L. Partners told the NY Post that 65% of Trump’s supporters would support U.S. strikes on Iranian outposts while just 19% would oppose it.

Republicans who describe themselves as “traditional” back war by an even higher margin: 51% support acting against Iran while 28% do not, and Republicans overall stand behind a strike, 58% to 25%, with 17% neutral or unsure, the Post said.

“This poll makes clear: the Republican base is not isolationist. They back forceful U.S. and Israeli action to stop Iran, and see Israel’s fight as America’s fight,” James Johnson, co-founder of the New York-based J.L. Partners, assessed in a statement.

Among all voters, Trump’s handling of the Iranian conflict is still in good standing, with 46% approving versus 40% disapproving.

Although Trump cannot run for a third term, he is keenly sensitive to the notion that supporters may walk back their support over his decision. So far, however, that doesn’t seem to be the case: 95% of poll respondents who voted for Trump in 2024 say they still support him today.

The numbers come at a tumultuous time for the MAGA movement. America First apostles like Tucker Carlson and Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) have encouraged Trump to avoid direct military action, while traditional pro-war Republicans, including U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Fox News host Mark Levin, have lobbied for the opposite.

As the animosity between both camps has turned more personal, Trump and White House officials in recent days have launched a blitz of communications with the top MAGA figures, compelling them to drop their public criticisms of the president and fall back in line.

So far, their approach appears to have triaged the dispute.

Carlson called Trump to privately apologize after releasing a newsletter on Monday calling the president “complicit” in Israel’s attack last week. Meanwhile, Steve Bannon used his podcast on Wednesday to predict that MAGA supporters would ultimately stand behind any decision Trump makes, including all-out war.
