NEW: Trump’s Betting Odds Explode As Results Pour In
In a dramatic surge on Election Day, Donald Trump’s betting odds have skyrocketed, pulling far ahead of Kamala Harris as early returns start to trickle in.
The latest data from Polymarket shows Trump with a commanding 67.1% to 33.0% advantage over Harris, a staggering shift that reflects a surge of confidence from the betting market in the former president’s chances of reclaiming the White House.
The Polymarket map highlights Trump’s dominance across much of the Midwest, South, and a few battleground states that have historically leaned Democrat. In contrast, Harris is holding onto her strongholds along the West Coast and Northeast but has seen her odds drop by 7.8% in recent hours. Trump’s odds, meanwhile, have surged by 8.2%, suggesting momentum as voter turnout continues.
Meanwhile, on betting sites, Trump’s odds stand at -230, a clear indication that bookmakers see him as a firm favorite. Harris, lagging at +190, faces a challenging path as Election Night unfolds. Despite holding key Democratic states, her lead appears less secure in battleground territories critical for victory.
Trump emerged victorious in Kentucky and Indiana just moments after polls officially closed, marking his first win of the 2024 Presidential Election.
The first polls closed at 6 p.m. Eastern Time in parts of Kentucky and Indiana, though polls officially closed an hour later in a handful of states. At 7 p.m. Eastern Time, polls closed statewide in the aforementioned states, as well as South Carolina, Vermont, and the pivotal battleground of Georgia. All eyes will be on the Peach State throughout the first hour of statewide poll closures. Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has stated that final results can be expected much earlier than 2020, when counting was extended for more than 24 hours.
As votes continue to pour in, both campaigns are urging their supporters to cast their ballots. With Trump’s betting lead marking his highest point yet, tonight promises a suspenseful showdown that could redefine America’s political landscape.
