News Host’s Wife, Daughters Killed By Crossbow-Wielding Attacker
John Hunt, a BBC horse racing radio commentator, tragically lost his wife and two adult daughters in an attack north of London on Tuesday night. The assailant, reportedly wielding a crossbow, was identified as Kyle Clifford, the ex-boyfriend of one of Hunt’s deceased daughters.
Following the attack, Clifford fled the scene, prompting a citywide manhunt led by local police forces. Jon Simpson, the local policing commander for Hertfordshire Constabulary, announced that the search extended into Wednesday morning.
On Wednesday, Clifford, the 26-year-old suspect, was apprehended by armed officers in Enfield, north London. According to police reports and BBC News, Clifford was found injured but no shots were fired by the police during his capture. He is currently receiving medical treatment.

Clifford, had a short stint in the Armed Forces prior to the “targeted” incident last night. He served as a trooper, a rank comparable to a private, in the Queen’s Dragoon Guards. A photograph capturing him in his military attire, complete with camouflage face paint and holding a gun, has been circulated. A previous employer from the early part of his career mentioned that Clifford left the forces shortly after completing his initial training.
“Clifford joined the Army in 2019 and I was with him in Basic Training,” he told The Sun. “When he joined the Army he was immature for his age and had a bit of a chip on his shoulder. He struggled to grasp basic military concepts but managed to reach the standard to pass out from training. I hear he was [later] working in private security so would indicate that he is no longer in the military.”
A friend of Louise reminisced about her during an interview with BBC News, describing her as “always a positive person” and admitting he could not think of “anything bad to say about her.” He shared, “I knew Louise from our school days. She was really sweet and very kind. I can’t think of anything bad to say about her – a really lovely person all around, and super hardworking. It’s been a massive shock.”

As two police helicopters hovered overhead and two uniformed officers stood guard at a local terraced house, the neighborhood was on high alert. One local mother shared her unsettling encounter upon returning from school drop-off to discover armed police at the house opposite hers.
“They had cordoned off the road and were ushering people away from the house they were going into,” she told The DailyMail. “They had the full protective gear on, guns, shields, and helmets – the kind you’d expect to see in riots.”
“They let me through to get home and they remained there for about an hour before they left. Then there was just the ordinary police there,” she added. “I don’t know the family at all. I know the father passed away some time ago but that’s about it.”
