Newsom Rages After Trump Ally Sends Hilarious ‘Gift’

While speaking with reporters on Thursday, California Governor Gavin Newsom was apoplectic after revealing that a leading Trump ally sent him a “Trump 2028” hat as a gift.

Newsom was speaking in downtown Los Angeles to roll out a plan that would turn California into arguably the most gerrymandered state in the nation by drawing out five Republican-controlled districts. While California Democrats are claiming this will be done in “retaliation” for GOP-led redistricting in Texas, the proposed Texas maps would merely bring the Lonestar State up to par with California’s current layout, where Republicans control just 17 percent of available seats despite getting nearly 40 percent of the vote.

While announcing the effort to redraw California’s congressional districts, federal immigration agents positioned themselves outside and proceeded to make arrests. This enraged Newsom, who compared the Trump Administration to Nazi Germany in his remarks.

“Well, I think it’s pretty sick and pathetic. And it should set everything you need to know the setting that we’re under, that they chose the time, manner and place to send their district director outside right when we’re about to have this press conference,” the governor told reporters Thursday.

“That’s everything you know about Donald Trump’s America, and that was top down, you know that for a fact. They’ll deny it, I’m sure. Maybe they won’t deny it. Should everything you know about the authoritarian tendencies of the President of the United States, I said in a moment, wake up, America, wake up,” Newsom continued to rant, adding that America will cease to exist if Trump is able to “rig” elections.

The hysteria continued when Newsom said that Trump will be running for a third term. “You will have a president who will be running for a third term. Mark my word. I wasn’t exaggerating when I said that I received in the mail a Trump 2028 hat from one of his biggest supporters. These guys are not screwing around,” the governor ranted.

“The rules do not apply to him. The most corrupt president in history. He doesn’t believe in free enterprise, crony capitalism. He is wrecking this country, wrecking the economy. He’s a lawless president. Wake up, America. Wake up to what’s going on.”

President Trump has consistently entertained a long-running joke that he will run for a third term, which often elicits hysterical reactions from leftists. Most recently, the president showed off a Trump 2028 hat while meeting with the president of Azerbaijan while joking that he could easily win re-election for a third time.
