NFL Legend Lawrence Taylor Says He Had Been A Democrat His Whole Life Until He Met Trump
While speaking at former President Donald Trump’s campaign rally in Wildwood, New Jersey, NFL legend Lawrence Taylor told the crowd that he had “always been a Democrat” until he met Trump.
“I just wanted to say, I grew up a Democrat and I’ve always been a Democrat until I met this man right here,” Taylor said while pointing to Trump. “He will not have to worry about nobody in my family ever voting for a Democrat again.”
Taylor has long been regarded as one of the best defensive players in the history of the NFL. The hall of fame linebacker hauled in three NFL Defensive Player of the Year awards and two Super Bowl rings before retiring in 1986. He was also named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player in 1986, a rarity for defensive players.
I’m Wildwood, Taylor was joined on stage by fellow NFL veteran Ottis Anderson, who also played for the New York Giants. “Don’t you just love that guy? Don’t you just love that guy?” Anderson said. “I tell you, it has been a very exciting day. You guys, not one person left here, you’re still here yelling and screaming.”
The rally ultimately drew nearly 100,000 people to the Jersey shore point of Wildwood, a popular vacation destination for residents of southeastern Pennsylvania. While New Jersey has not been won by a Republican presidential candidate since 1988, Trump has expressed confidence in his ability to change that in November.
