Nearly Half Of Nikki Haley’s Voters In Virginia’s Open Primary Approve Of Biden’s Job Performance

An NBC News exit poll found that nearly half of Nikki Haley’s voters in Virginia’s open primary approve of President Biden’s job performance, giving the president much higher marks than the general electorate.

When asked if they approve of President Biden’s job performance as president, 48 percent of Haley voters said yes while 51 percent said they do not. Just one percent of Trump voters gave Biden positive marks while 97 percent said they do not approve of his job performance.

Haley’s voters in Virginia — where Democrats are allowed to vote in the Republican primary and vice versa — have a higher opinion of President Biden than the general electorate. According to the RealClearPolling average comprised of the nation’s top polls, just 39.6 percent of voters approve of the president’s tenure while 56.8 percent disapprove.

President Biden’s approval rating is above 40 percent in just three polls, those being Rasmussen, Fox News and YouGov. The president’s February approval rating was highest in YouGov’s survey at 45 percent, still below that of Haley voters in Virginia’s Republican primary.

Despite the trend of Democrats voting for Nikki Haley continuing, Virginia’s Republican primary was called for former President Trump just 20 minutes after polls closed.

In North Carolina’s semi-closed primary — where unaffiliated voters are allowed to vote in party contests — the results were almost identical. 48 percent of Haley voters said they approve of President Biden’s job performance while 52 percent said they do not, once again beating out the national electorate.
