‘Not A Good Look’: Beloved Fox Host Under Fire For ‘Combative’ Trump Interview
Longtime Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham is taking friendly fire after her “combative” interview with President Donald Trump where she needled him for referring to Canada as America’s 51st state and stoking global resentment with his ongoing trade war.
Ingraham, 61, who informally advised Trump during his successful 2016 campaign, appeared out of character Tuesday night as she shrugged off the president’s reasons for instituting tariffs on a raft of imports from Canada, causing Quebec leaders to temporarily place a surcharge on electricity to several northern states.
“You’re tougher with Canada that you are with some of our biggest adversaries. Why?” asked Ingraham, who continued to interrupt as Trump gave an explanation. “They have territorial advantage. We’re not going to let them get closer to China, right?”
Undeterred, Trump called the northern neighbor “one of the nastiest countries to deal with” while laying the blame on former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and aides who he claimed “never told the truth” about tariffs on U.S. goods.
“They charged us 250%. Nobody knows that. We have a very big deficit with Canada,” he added.
“60 billion,” Ingraham responded. When Trump declared that figure was “a lot more,” she quickly muttered, “I don’t think so.”
“The Liberal Party’s going to win” because of Trump’s tariffs, Ingraham said, causing Trump to repeatedly reply “I don’t care” while shaking his head.

Knives were unsheathed almost instantly by conservatives accusing Ingraham of behaving like an MSNBC anchor.
“Not a good look…” wrote Johnny MAGA on X.
“Time Trump moves on from Laura Ingraham and doesn’t give her another exclusive,” said another. Other adjectives used to describe the Fox reporter were “unfair,” “annoying,” and “disrespectful” while tossing “loaded” questions at Trump.
The White House has asked for Americans’ patience as tariffs work through to the intended benefits Trump believes will bear fruit. He has imposed a 25% surcharge on Canadian aluminum used in beer cans and other consumer goods in a bid to pressure manufacturers to move operations or to encourage corporations relying on Canadian aluminum to strike deals with U.S. producers.
On Wednesday, the Washington Post reported that Trump advisors are preparing to unleash “trillions” of dollars in new tariffs on April 2nd, escalating economic hostilities in a moment President Trump has privately begun referring to as “Liberation Day.”
“It’s a liberation day for our country because we’re going to be getting back a lot of the wealth that we so foolishly gave up to other countries, including friend and foe,” Trump told reporters on Monday.
Despite the hostility from Ingraham on Tuesday night, she has also encouraged Americans to “ignore” turmoil in U.S. stock markets, saying “Trump is good for business” and directing viewers to consider the dramatically dropping cost of eggs.
“Just ignore the sky-is-falling reports and the regime press,” Ingraham told her audience during an episode of “The Ingraham Angle” last week. “Tune out the breathless reporting about market gyrations because even the most dedicated globalists, they know Trump is good for business.”
