‘Nutty’ Jasmine Crockett Under Fire For Despicable Comments About Trump Supporters
A tense discussion over the motivations of Trump supporters saw “Squad” Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) sink to new lows, making remarks that has critics calling out her “nutty” denunciation of fellow Americans she looks down on.
All supporters of President Donald Trump should seek help, Crockett said on Wednesday, because they are “mentally ill.” The politically incorrect comment came while the Texas lawmaker appeared as a guest on Katie Couric’s “Next Question” podcast.
“We’ve got a mental health crisis in this country because everyone, no matter how you affiliate yourself, should be against Trump, period. This is not partisan for me,” she said.
Crockett continued, claiming that former Vice President Kamala Harris is “way more qualified” than Trump to be commander in chief, and it’s only because Trump is an “old white man” that he won the 2024 election.
At the time time, she said, her heart “breaks” for military men and women who are serving under President Trump.
“My heart breaks for service members, people that signed up to protect democracy and freedom, not only here, but abroad, and were willing to risk their lives,” she said.
“And now, literally, the very thing that they signed up to fight against is now their commander-in-chief. It really breaks my heart. And I don’t know how far he has to go before we can come together and just say, enough is enough.”

Crockett’s mental illness missive against Trump supporters comes months after she made similarly insensitive comments about Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican who uses a wheelchair. During a speech, the Democrat referred to Abbott as “Governor Hot Wheels.”
Her comment about Trump’s white privilege is reminiscent of her recent and baseless claim that “white supremacists” are responsible for committing 80% of the worst crime in the U.S., according to Outkick.
Since the election, the “Squad” member has tried her best to rise the ranks in progressive stardom, on occasion outshining better-known colleagues like Bronx Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).
While giving a commencement speech in May, Crockett told graduates of a historically black college to “use a chair” in public life, an insinuation that many took as condoning violence. She proudly touted landing her first job based solely on being black, blamed racism for Harris’s loss, and used her time during congressional inquiries to accuse Republicans of running “sham hearings.”
But the more press Crockett manages to get, the happier Trump supporters appear to be online.
“I hope they keep trotting her out. The best PR for the Republican Party ever,” one user responded to her latest comments.
“She is so funny. A true friend of Republicans retaining the moderate vote. Keep her out front please,” said another.
