Pat Sajak Records Final Episode Of ‘Wheel Of Fortune,’ Air Date Revealed

Pat Sajak’s final episode of Wheel of Fortune has a release date after weeks of speculation surrounding the longtime host’s retirement.

According to a report from Good Morning America, Sajak’s final episode will air on June 7. The show will coincide with the Wheel of Fortune season 41 finale.

Sajak announced last June that season 41 would be his final season on the show. “It’s been a wonderful ride,” Sajak said at the time in a message that was shared by the show’s Instagram account.

Weeks after Sajak announced that he would be retiring from the show, ABC announced that Ryan Seacrest will serve as his replacement.

“I’m truly humbled to be stepping into the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak,” Seacrest wrote in a statement after receiving the news. “I can say, along with the rest of America, that it’s been a privilege and pure joy to watch Pat and Vanna on our television screens for an unprecedented 40 years, making us smile every night and feel right at home with them.”

Sajak has hosted the show since 1981. His co-host Vanna White, who operates the board and reveals letters as they are guessed by contestants, has been on Wheel of Fortune since 1982.
