Pay Your Bills! Brandon Gets the Smack Down on Student Loan Forgiveness!
One of the main selling points Joe Biden ran on in 2020 was his willingness to “forgive” student loan debt and wipe most or all of it from the books. Of course, anyone with a functioning brain knows this is difficult, likely illegal, and an affront to anyone that struggled, sacrificed, and paid off their own debt, but it bought Brandon votes, so who cares!!! After wielding his mighty authoritarian pen from his bully pulpit, many millions across the country thought they were going to wriggle out of paying their bills. Not so fast!
A Federal judge in Texas has put the celebration on hold pending further review. Check this out.
A federal judge in Texas ruled Thursday evening that President Joe Biden’s student loan bailout is illegal, dealing a massive blow to the administration.
U.S. District Judge Mark Pittman made the ruling in response to a lawsuit filed by the Job Creators Network Foundation, which alleged that Biden’s student loan bailout violated federal procedures.

Biden thought he could cancel debt with a flick of his bic, but of course, it isn’t that easy. You can’t piss off half the country and essentially stick the other half’s debt load on them without at least a few people filing suit. The irony is, President Trump was accused of being a dictator every time he used his executive power, which as it turns out was way less than Joe Biden.
But why would Biden care about student loan debt? The midterms are over, he got elected in 2020 running on empty promises and now has nothing politically to gain from it. My guess is it quietly goes away.
U.S. District Judge Mark Pittman made the ruling in response to a lawsuit filed by the Job Creators Network Foundation, which alleged that Biden’s student loan bailout violated federal procedures.
“In this country, we are not ruled by an all-powerful executive with a pen and a phone,” Pittman continued.
“The Court is not blind to the current political division in our country,” he concluded. “But it is fundamental to the survival of our Republic that the separation of powers as outlined in our Constitution be preserved. And having interpreted the HEROES Act, the Court holds that it does not provide ‘clear congressional authorization’ for the Program proposed by the Secretary.”
So much for that. I guess I will have to finish paying back my student loans like everyone else. At least the balance that I don’t die with. However, it was my choice to seek financial assistance, I spent the money, so I pay it back. Crazy how that works, isn’t it?
Brandon got what he wanted with his promise to cancel student debt; elected. At this point it doesn’t serve his interest to push the issue any further. My guess is this disappears into the ether, and people will be asking a year from now, ‘whatever happened to cancelling my debt’, as they write that check to their loan providers. Another illegal, empty promise from an empty administration.
