Police Arrest Illegal Alien Accused Of Swiping Trump Official’s Bag
Police have reportedly arrested an illegal alien after Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s purse was stolen last week from a Washington D.C. restaurant over Easter weekend.
Noem, 53, was celebrating Easter with her family at The Capital Burger when a masked thief stole her luxury shoulder bag containing more than $3,000 in cash. The bag also contained her driver’s license, passport, DHS badge and apartment keys.
The suspect, whose identity has not been released as of this report, was arrested by the D.C. Metropolitan Police following a joint investigation with the Secret Service, according to a report from the New York Post.
The unnamed suspect, an illegal alien who is believed to have connections to an organized theft ring and is expected to appear in court early next week. Police are also searching for a second suspect, another illegal alien, who is believed to have participated in the crime, D.C. Metro Police sources told the outlet.

D.C. U.S. Attorney Ed Martin stated that it was unlikely Noem was targeted due to her high-profile position. “There is no indication it was because of that,” Martin told NBC News.
“It was frankly, it was a nice looking purse. This was not an amateur. This was a person, a thief, that knew how to do this. You could see how he scouted the room out.”
The bag, which carries a hefty price tag of $4,400 on the label’s website, was on the ground at the DHS secretary’s table when it was taken, according to a complaint filed with local police. It also contained a Louis Vuitton Clemence Purse inside, which sells for $600, investigators noted.
Security camera footage captured a man wearing an N-95 surgical mask, dark pants, a “fur-type” collar and a ball cap stealing the bag before leaving the restaurant, which is located about a mile away from the White House.
“It was kind of shocking, actually, because it was sitting right by my feet. I actually felt my purse —he hooked it with his foot and drug it a few steps away and dropped a coat over it and took it,” Noem said during a recent discussion with conservative podcaster Vince Coglianese. “I thought it was my grandkids kicking me in the legs, but it was very professionally done,” she added on the “Vince” podcast.
“It tells me that this happens all the time to people, and that they live in communities where this is a danger and it reaffirms why I’m here.”
Martin assured that both suspects will be handled by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and will never step foot in the United States again once they are both in custody.
“President Trump’s direction to us is we charge these folks that are here illegally and we prosecute them, as well as deport them when need be, you know, as soon as that can happen,” he told NBC News.
