‘Porky’s’ Star Tony Ganios Passes Away At 64
Tony Ganios, renowned for his role in the 1981 beloved movie “Porky’s,” has passed away at the age of 64. Amanda Ganios, his fiancée, confirmed that the iconic actor passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 18.
Amanda revealed that Tony succumbed to complications after undergoing a four-hour emergency surgery for a spinal cord infection on Saturday.
She explained that the operation for the infection was successful, but by the next morning, he was placed on dialysis and subsequently suffered cardiac arrest. “I just love him so much,” Amanda conveyed to Fox News Digital. “I don’t know how else I can express it.”

Tony Ganios was best known for his roles in the 1980s, particularly for playing Anthony “Meat” Tuperello in the “Porky’s” trilogy, a series of teen comedy films starting with “Porky’s” in 1981. Born in 1959, Ganios made his film debut in “The Wanderers” (1979), playing the role of Perry, a tough, young gang member in the Bronx in the early 1960s. His imposing physical presence and distinctive performances helped him secure roles typically characterized by his tough-guy persona.
Aside from his memorable performances in “Porky’s,” Ganios appeared in various other films and television shows, showcasing his versatility as an actor.
