‘PURE CLASS’: NFL Star Immediately Kneels In Prayer For Injured Opponent
In a thrilling overtime matchup, the Cincinnati Bengals defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 34-31, with Jake Browning throwing for 354 yards and a touchdown in his second start. However, that wasn’t the only headline from Monday night’s game.
A touching moment occurred when Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson paused for a heartfelt act of sportsmanship. Hendrickson took a knee in prayer for Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who had just suffered a painful injury during the fourth quarter.
After trying to help Lawrence up, Hendrickson removed his helmet and knelt to pray for him, a gesture that has resonated with viewers and fellow players.
WATCH:
Lawrence, a rising star in the NFL, went down with what was later diagnosed as a high ankle sprain.
The injury to Lawrence comes at a critical juncture in the NFL season. Initially feared to be more severe, the diagnosis of the ankle sprain brought somewhat of a sigh of relief, though it still poses challenges for the Jags’ playoff run.
