REPORT: Biden Set To Announce New Amnesty Plan For 1.1 Million Illegal Aliens

President Joe Biden could soon announce a new effort that would allow illegal aliens to obtain legal status if they are married to U.S. citizens, four sources within the administration told CBS News. Biden is hoping the move will energize left-wing and progressive voters in an election year.

Biden is expected to be announcing the amnesty plan as early as Tuesday at a White House event, two sources told the outlet on the condition of anonymity.

The proposal, known as “Parole in Place,” would also open up a pathway to permanent legal status and U.S. citizenship for beneficiaries. The plan would allow those who entered the country illegally to obtain green cards without leaving the country.

Eligible illegal aliens would receive legal status and work permits so long as they have lived in the United States for 10 years and are married to a U.S. citizen.

Another plan being floated by the Biden Administration would streamline the process for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients and other illegal aliens to request waivers that would make it easier for them to obtain temporary visas, such as H-1B visas for high-skilled workers, CBS News reported.

Biden could announce the sweeping amnesty plan — that could benefit more than one-million illegal aliens — as early as Tuesday. White House officials are preparing to host an event that day to commemorate the 12th anniversary of former President Barack Obama’s illegal DACA executive order, which shields more than 500,000 illegal aliens who were brought to the U.S. as children from deportation.

Some prominent Democrat Party leaders have already been invited to the White House Tuesday, three White House sources told the outlet. A White House official said no final decisions had been made, however. White House spokesperson Angelo Fernandez Hernandez previously said the administration is “committed to taking action to address our broken immigration system.”

If enacted, the “Parole in Place” program would be the most significant amnesty initiative since DACA. The policy would benefit an estimated 1.1 million illegal aliens with American citizen spouses, as long as they meet the residency requirement and other rules.

More than 10 million illegal aliens have entered the United States since President Biden took office in 2021.
