REPORT: Iran Creates ‘Human Shield’ Around Power Plants As Nation Faces Obliteration
Iranian state media circulated a striking scene on Tuesday as tensions tick higher ahead of Donald Trump’s looming deadline.
Iran’s official Fars news agency posted a short video showing what it described as a “Human chain in front of the Kazerun combined cycle power plant.”
The footage appears to show hundreds of civilians gathered outside the facility, answering a call from an Iranian government official urging people to act as human shields at key infrastructure sites.
The move comes as Trump ramps up pressure on Tehran. The president has warned Iran’s leadership that if the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened to all shipping traffic by 8 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday, he will order strikes targeting the country’s power plants and bridges.
The Kazerun, or Kazeroon, facility is described in multiple CBS sources as a natural gas-fired power plant located in Iran’s southwestern Fars province, near the Persian Gulf.

Earlier on Tuesday morning, Israeli warplanes struck rail lines and bridges across Iran, expanding a pressure campaign that is increasingly aimed at crippling the regime’s ability to move men and materiel inside the country.
The airstrikes hit 10 railway lines and bridges, according to Israel’s Army Radio, which said the targets were used to transport weapons and missile launch platforms. Iranian media also reported U.S.-Israeli attacks on rail infrastructure in multiple areas.
There was no immediate word on casualties or the full scope of damage. Iranian authorities have not released fresh nationwide figures in recent days.
The strikes came just hours after the Israeli military warned Iranians to stay off trains and steer clear of rail stations, signaling a widening target set beyond missile sites and command nodes.
The escalation unfolds as President Donald Trump’s deadline for Tehran approaches. Trump has publicly warned that Iran has a limited window to accept a peace framework and halt its aggression, and he has repeatedly said the U.S. is prepared to intensify the campaign if the regime refuses.
