REPORT: Lindsey Graham Strangely Hugged Fani Willis After Testifying Against Trump

South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who at times has bent over backward for years claiming to be an ally and confidant of former President Donald Trump, reportedly hugged Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis following testimony against the president in what observers described as a bizarre half-embrace.

In November 2022, Sen. Graham testified before a grand jury in DA Willis’ case alleging President Trump and 18 co-conspirators attempted to overturn Georgia’s 2020 election results. POLITICO reports that Graham “turned on a dime and threw Trump under the bus” in his remarks.

Following the 2020 election, Sen. Graham briefly defended Trump’s claims of a stolen election before reversing course and claiming that President Joe Biden had won. His insights into President Trump’s thinking back then were the critical evidence prosecutors sought and supported Willis’ decision to bring racketeering charges against the former president and 18 others in August of last year.

“That was so cathartic…I feel so much better,” Sen. Graham reportedly told Willis after his testimony. He thanked her for an “opportunity to tell his story” and then leaned in as he attempted to hug her.

“‘She was like “whatever, dude,”’ according to one person who witnessed the encounter.

The strange scene was first revealed in an upcoming book by Michael Isikoff and Daniel Klaidmanin, titled “Find Me the Votes: A Hard-Charging Georgia Prosecutor, a Rogue President, and the Plot to Steal an American Election.” Set to be published next week, the book chronicles President Trump’s involvement in seeking a Georgia recount and petitioning Republican Governor Brian Kemp to support his cause.

Other notable moments in Graham’s testimony include when he began “[suggesting] to the grand jurors that Trump cheated at golf.”

“Graham testified that if you told Trump ‘that Martians came and stole the election, he’d probably believe you,’” wrote Isikoff and Klaidmanin.

“Senator Graham never spoke with the authors and what they are selling is pretty much total and complete BS,” Kevin Bishop, a spokesperson for Graham, told the Daily Caller. “At the end of the day, this is all just trash for left-wing cash. Senator Graham has no problem with his testimony being made public and he is not scheduled to be a witness in the trial.”

If true, Sen. Graham has flipped yet again. He endorsed President Trump early in the 2024 nominating process, writing on X, “I believe President Trump is the best choice to get America back on track.”

“When it comes to President Trump, he’s proven he can make America safe and great,” Graham added.
