REPORT: ‘Sheltered’ Ella Emhoff Was Set Up For Fake Phone Calls While Volunteering For Kamala’s Campaign
Kamala Harris’ stepdaughter Ella Emhoff recently revealed that she was so “sheltered” during her stepmom’s failed White House bid that when she volunteered for the campaign, staffers pre-screened her cold calls to make sure nobody said anything “mean” to her.
“They set me up for positive calls because they didn’t want someone to know they were talking to me and then say some absolutely heinous stuff,” Emhoff, 25, revealed during a recent episode of the “Girls Rewatch” podcast.
Emhoff, the daughter of former Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, conceded that she found cold calling “intimidating” and found it strange that Harris-Walz campaign volunteers would ask questions like; “Who’s the man behind this?”
“I think they had it a little they, they set me up for positive call… someone to know they were talking to me and then say some absolutely heinous stuff,” she explained. “Just from what I see and what people, like questions people ask me online, and stuff like that I’m just from talking to staffers like, no, people really just love to ask that or like, so who’s the man behind this?” she continued, seemingly suggesting the Harris-Walz campaign was sexist.
Emhoff has previously admitted that she believed mainstream polling and truly believed her stepmom was going to crush President Trump back in November. During Kamala’s concession speech, both Emhoff and Harris’ running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, could be soon sobbing uncontrollably.
In a social media post a day laughter, Emhoff addressed the post-election moment and dished on how she was handling the loss. “Truly no words. We are all going to get through this. It just f***ing hurts like a b***h right now and that’s ok,” the post read.
Emhoff reassured followers that she was not having a mental breakdown and dismissed rumors that she had checked herself into a mental health facility after the election loss. “There’s a rumor about me having a mental breakdown and getting checked into a hospital. Not true. Also f–k you if you’re out there spreading that. There’s nothing wrong with showing emotion and crying. Anyone who says there is probably needs a good cry,” Emhoff said in an Instagram post.
During the campaign cycle, Emhoff generated controversy for promoting a Palestinian fundraiser for humanitarian aid via the United Nations Relief and Works Agency. The Biden Administration cut off funding to the program last January over alleged participation in the Oct. 7 attack.
