REPORT: Trump Floats Firing Two Additional Cabinet Members

President Donald Trump is eyeing more shakeups inside his Cabinet just days after dumping Attorney General Pam Bondi, with two more top officials now under scrutiny, according to reports.

White House insiders told Politico that Trump has grown frustrated with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer, and is weighing whether to show them the door.

Bondi’s firing on April 2 marked the second Cabinet exit in less than a month, following the ouster of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem on March 5.

“He is very angry,” one administration official told Politico, “and he’s going to be moving people.”

Another staffer said Trump is zeroing in on officials who have “generated too much negative attention.”

Chavez-DeRemer has faced a string of controversies during her time in the administration, including allegations she brought staffers to a strip club on a work trip. Her husband has also been barred from Labor Department headquarters over sexual harassment claims.

The picture is murkier for Lutnick. One insider told Politico he is on “thin ice,” while another pushed back, saying, “Everyone is thrilled with the job Howard has done.”

Lutnick played a key role in shaping Trump’s tariff push, which was later struck down by the Supreme Court.

Betting markets are already circling. Traders on Polymarket are placing odds on who could be next, with Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth seen as more likely to get axed than Chavez-DeRemer or Lutnick.

Despite the chatter, the White House is publicly standing by its team.

“Secretaries Chavez-DeRemer and Lutnick are both doing a great job standing up for American workers, and they continue to have President Trump’s full support,” spokesperson Taylor Rogers told The Independent.

Another spokesperson, Davis Ingle, echoed that message, saying, “President Trump has the most talented cabinet and team in American history. Patriots like Kash Patel, Lori Chavez-DeRemer, and Dan Driscoll are tirelessly implementing the President’s agenda and achieving tremendous results for the American people.”
