President-elect Donald Trump’s team is currently in talks with digital assets experts about the possibility of creating a new White House position that is dedicated entirely to cryptocurrency policy, according to a report from Bloomberg News.

It is unclear whether the jobholder will be given an official role in the White House staff, or if they will be designated as a “crypto czar.” Presidents have long appointed officials to serve in a number of regulatory under the title of “czar” without an official confirmation process. Cryptocurrency advocates are pushing for the officeholder to have a direct line to President-elect Trump.

They’ll dominate, and we cannot let China dominate. They are making too much progress as it is,” he said.

In addition, Trump called for increased involvement in Bitcoin mining on the sort of U.S. firms. “This afternoon I’m laying out my plan to ensure that the United States will be the crypto capital of the planet and the bitcoin superpower of the world and we’ll get it done,” he added.
