Reporter Gets Dive-Bombed By Bird On Live TV
Fox News Senior White House Correspondent Peter Doocy was delivering a routine Monday morning report outside the White House when a bird swooped down toward his head — for the second time in less than a month.
The airborne ambush occurred during a live segment with co-host Dana Perino, who immediately took note of Doocy’s sudden dodge. “Peter, are you dodging birds again?” Perino joked.
“There is a bird! Yes, I am [dodging birds]!” Doocy exclaimed on air, leaning away instinctively. “I need to shave my head!”
Perino joked back, “It’s because you’re so tall.” Doocy grinned and replied, “And so cute.”
“Send the birds to Alcatraz!” Doocy joked referencing President Trump’s recent desire to open up the prison.

It wasn’t the first time Doocy found himself in the flight path of D.C.’s feathery residents.
Just weeks ago, another bird appeared to mistake the journalist’s head for a landing strip, briefly touching down during a live broadcast. As Doocy swatted at the winged interloper and tried to keep his hair intact, “Fox & Friends” hosts Brian Kilmeade and Steve Doocy (his father) couldn’t contain their laughter.
“What is going on!” Kilmeade shouted as the bird circled for a second pass.
“I did not like that at all,” Peter said at the time, still brushing his hair and smiling through the chaos.
With cherry blossoms blooming and nests being built across the capital, Doocy may have just been in the wrong place at the wrong time — again. Or, as some online have joked, he may simply have the best hair in Washington for nest material.
“It’s probably so dirty,” he laughed last month. “President Trump, if you’re watching upstairs, we’ve gotta do something about these birds!”
The 37-year-old correspondent has been a fixture in the press briefing room since the Biden-Harris years, known for sharp questions and calm under pressure — whether from the administration or the animal kingdom. Doocy drew viral attention when he asked Karine Jean-Pierre why former Vice President Kamala Harris hadn’t done an interview after launching her presidential campaign. He also made headlines after casually asking the press secretary how she was doing the day after Biden dropped out of the race.
Doocy’s profile has grown in parallel with the Trump administration’s return to power. Frequently called on by President Trump himself, he’s become a go-to figure in the West Wing’s media orbit. The president has even ribbed him good-naturedly, like last month when they joked about “backdating” March Madness brackets.
As for the birds? Doocy may want to consider a helmet.
