Ringleader Behind White House Terror Plot Exposed As Obama-Era DACA Recipient

The alleged mastermind behind the foiled terror plot targeting the UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House is an illegal immigrant from Mexico who received protections under the Obama-era DACA program after overstaying a visa, according to Homeland Security information obtained by Fox News Digital.

Abraham Alvarez, whom federal investigators describe as the “ringleader” of the scheme, entered the United States as a child and was granted Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, status in 2014. He had remained in the country after his B2 visa expired in 2001.

Authorities say Alvarez directed a plan to unleash a mass-casualty attack during the June 14 UFC event on the White House grounds.

Five alleged co-conspirators have been arrested so far this month. Prosecutors say the group intended to use explosive-laden drones to trigger an evacuation and then have snipers open fire on fleeing crowds. Investigators allege Alvarez was responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the operation.

Court records identified Alvarez as a foreign national after he agreed to consular notification following his arrest, though the documents did not specify his country of origin or immigration status.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement later lodged a detainer against Alvarez after the FBI took him into custody.

Alvarez was arrested by federal agents in Omaha, Nebraska, on the day of the event.

The White House and FBI declined to comment to Fox News about the status of other individuals involved in the group chat, with the White House referring questions to a Justice Department press release.

“This illegal alien from Mexico should never have been allowed in our country,” DHS Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said in a statement to Fox News Digital on the attack. “He was the ringleader of a failed terror attack targeting UFC Freedom 250 at the White House.”

“He will face justice and swiftly be removed from our country,” she added of Alvarez.

Federal authorities allege the group had a second phase planned after the initial attack. According to investigators, conspirators intended to storm the White House gates in an effort to spark a revolution in the United States.

Prosecutors say the suspects cited grievances including alleged government corruption, the handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files, data centers’ water usage, and Israel’s influence on domestic politics.

Alvarez allegedly operated under the name “Shepherd” in an encrypted group chat dedicated to planning the attack.

According to a Justice Department press release, he was “responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the planned attack.”

“As many and as deadly as we can get,” Alvarez allegedly responded when asked by another participant about building drones equipped with explosives. Authorities say he also claimed to possess a functioning drone.

Investigators have identified 23 people connected to the alleged planning network. However, only five arrests had been announced as of publication.

If found guilty of conspiracy to commit murder, each defendant could face life in prison and a $250,000 fine. Charges related to plotting violence on White House grounds carry an additional maximum sentence of five years.

Vice President JD Vance said Tuesday that the alleged plot “was not that advanced,” adding that it was disrupted before it could progress further and noting that the suspects “weren’t in town” during the event.

“The FBI, our law enforcement partners and our U.S. Attorneys did what they do every day to make America Safe through quick response and vigilance in investigating, disrupting and dismantling this alleged plan before it could be carried out,” Acting Attorney General Todd was quoted as saying in a DOJ press release. “We will take immediate and aggressive action to identify and prosecute those who incite and plan acts of violence.”
