RNC Chair McDaniel: GOP to stay neutral; she won’t encourage Trump to run in 2024

The chairman of the Republican National Committee, Ronna McDaniel, has suggested that the GOP remains neutral in the next presidential election and that she would not encourage anyone, including former President Donald Trump, to run in the 2024 election.

Last year the RNC seemed highly motivated to get Trump reelected, but the next time around might be different in the sense that the GOP remains neutral and allows the candidates to battle it out for the top spot.

Trump has hinted that he may run for the White House again in 2024, but McDaniel suggests the GOP will not support his desire to seek office over any other candidates who jump into the race.

McDaniel said in an interview with the Associated Press that the “party has to stay neutral. I’m not telling anybody to run or not to run in 2024. That’s going to be up to those candidates going forward. What I really do want to see him do, though, is help us win back majorities in 2022.”

It’s also reported that McDaniel is focused on what comes up in 2022, that being the midterms and trying to get Republicans back in office where Democrats are, thus taking a stand against the “Democrats’ monopoly on Congress.”

A few months ago, McDaniel stated that then President Donald Trump had started a “movement unlike any other.”
