Sarah Palin Hints At Return To Washington With Cryptic Post

Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate, hinted in a cryptic social media post that she may be eyeing a return to Washington, D.C.

The conservative firebrand, referring to herself as the “mother of MAGA” on Thursday, posted a photo of herself outside the Capitol building with the mysterious caption “11/24” and limiting replies without further explanation. Her post came several days after she first noticed words of encouragement from followers urging her to seek a post in a second Trump administration, the New York Post reported.

“Palin was Trump before Trump. I have been saying this for years. Sarah Palin is the Mother of MAGA,” the supporter wrote. “Back then [16 years ago], she was the face of the [Tea Party], what would then become the MAGA movement,” continued the follower, expressing outrage that others had been named for “positions I hoped Sarah Palin would get. It is so shocking to me how in 2017, and now it looks like in 2025, she will not get a seat at the table that she helped set.” Palin quoted the X post and added her own thoughts. “Big tent, big party, but know your history so America can repeat the good parts.”

Long before the #MeToo movement, Palin was subjected to some of the harshest criticism ever faced by a female nationwide candidate. Former aides to Hillary Clinton agreed that mainstream media outlets covering her 2008 campaign with John McCain exhibited a double standard, making sexist speculations about whether she was neglecting her family by running, Politico reported at the time. In response, Palin, the mother of a child with Down Syndrome, defended herself as a “mama bear” protecting her family from prying journalists.

Palin first endorsed President-elect Trump in January 2016, appearing at rallies and giving Trump a boost with her historic base of conservative supporters. In October she joined Trump and other surrogates for his rally at Madison Square Garden. She may be growing irritated with watching other luminaries in the Republican Party get appointed to various posts, however. “Andddd… yet another nominee announced!” she wrote earlier this week in an Instagram story, the Independent reported. Another post read “Funny how politics work” accompanied by a picture of herself.

Shortly before the election, Palin – who is devoutly pro-life – came to Trump’s defense during a panel on NewsNation, saying she “supports” Trump’s stance because he’s not “forcing anyone’s opportunity to end a pregnancy.”

“He (Trump) is supportive of the Supreme Court deciding Roe v. Wade, which should have been reversed a long time ago, to allow the state to have the people vote on it,” Palin said. “When men talk about a woman’s feelings and what they go through to make the decision, I say, you guys, you don’t know, you haven’t been there. That’s when gender does become an issue.”
