Sarah Palin’s Daughter Reveals Terrifying Health Scare
Bristol Palin, daughter of former Alaska governor and vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, is opening up about a frightening health crisis that left her unable to move half of her face.
In a candid social media post, the 33-year-old revealed she had been battling what doctors suspect is Bell’s palsy, a condition that causes sudden weakness or paralysis in facial muscles. Palin took to Instagram to share her experience, recounting how the ordeal began more than a week ago when she noticed something was off.
“I woke up nine days ago with a little weird sensation in my face. My mouth was flowing this way and it just felt like a little off,” she explained.
“So I looked in the mirror, I’m like wow, this is looking a little weird. Within a couple hours, the entire left side of my face was numb and just paralyzed.”
The symptoms quickly escalated, leaving her unable to blink or move the affected side of her face. Palin explained that she immediately sought medical attention, undergoing tests and scans in hopes of finding answers.

Bristol, the eldest daughter of former Alaska Governor and 2008 Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, made her mark in entertainment. In 2010, she showcased her dance skills on “Dancing with the Stars,” securing a third-place finish.
She ventured into reality television with her own series, “Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp,” on Lifetime in 2012, and later became part of the “Teen Mom OG” cast in 2018.

“I couldn’t really blink my eye, definitely had no movement on this side of my face. So crazy,” she explained. “Went to the doctor, they ran tests, they did a CT scan, they put me on steroids, put me on other medications.
“Nothing came back in all the results. They think it’s just a case of Bell’s palsy, maybe brought on by stress or lack of sleep.”
Doctors were unable to determine a definitive cause, but Palin suspects stress may have played a role. Despite not feeling overwhelmed in recent weeks, she acknowledged that stress-related factors might have contributed to the sudden onset.

“I’m not really sure. There was nothing that I was super stressed out about, but I think it was brought on by stress. So anyways, I know I look crazy right now, but this has been such an improvement from what I was looking like,” she added as the days went on.
“I’m finally starting to get some of the sensation back. It’s been like a little painful the last two days, which is a sign it’s a good indication that it’s getting better, so praise the Lord.”
“The next time that I look in the mirror and I pick myself apart where it’s like oh, my nose is long, I want a nose job, I want to do this, I want to do that, I am going to remember this, and I’m going to just be so thankful for a normal functioning face because this has been wild.”
Throughout the post, Palin documented her daily progress, showing how the paralysis persisted for days before she noticed slight improvements.
“Also if you know anyone that has any of these symptoms, I would highly, highly, highly suggest going more of the Eastern medicine route as well,” she said. “I’ve been getting acupuncture multiple times and that’s helped speed up the process of recovery tremendously.”
