Schiff Gets the Rug Pulled Out From Under Him After he Announces Potential Senate Run

Notorious Democratic Representative Adam Schiff got completely blind sided on Tuesday and it appears that he is not having such a great day…

Schiff who apparently considers himself a rising star in the Democratic party has had his eyes on Senator Dianne Feinstein’s Senate seat just got the rug ripped out from underneath him as a different Democrat announced her intentions to run for the seat.

Democrat Katie Porter another Representative from California announced just Tuesday morning that she would seek Feinstein’s seat. Feinstein is 89 and many expect her to retire and not seek re-election.

Katie Porter seized this opportunity to announce her campaign for Senate in California which has completely flipped Schiff’s world upside down since he was slated to be mulling over a bid for the seat.

“California needs a warrior in the Senate—to stand up to special interests, fight the dangerous imbalance in our economy, and hold so-called leaders like Mitch McConnell accountable for rigging our democracy. Today, I’m proud to announce my candidacy for the U.S. Senate in 2024,” Katie Porter said on her Twitter announcement video.

“We’re living through a time of extraordinary change. I’m Katie Porter. Change can be electrifying and exhilarating, but change can also be disruptive — like the constant assault on our democracy and the dangerous imbalance in our economy,”  Porter went on to say.

Katie Porter appears to have a well organized campaign up and running is going to clean up on early support and donations, something Schiff would not have if he were to enter the race.

Schiff who has not formally made the announcement recently spoke out on the issue of running, attempting to straddle the line of announcing and playing it safe. Check out that exchange from  KTTA’s “The Issue Is” below:

“It is widely expected that California Senator Dianne Feinstein, who is 89, will retire at the end of her term. You have expressed interest in that job. Is there any reason you would not run for Senate?” The anchor asked Schiff.

“It is widely expected that California Senator Dianne Feinstein, who is 89, will retire at the end of her term. You have expressed interest in that job. Is there any reason you would not run for Senate?”

“Well, I’m not usually asked the question in that form. You know, look, I am getting a lot of encouragement to run for the Senate from people in California and colleagues here in Congress. If Senator Feinstein retires, then I will give it very serious consideration.”

“You know, at this point, I think we’re waiting to see what Senator Feinstein has to say about her plans, but yes, it is something I’m giving serious consideration to,” Schiff said in his flailing response.

With McCarthy now in charge of the House of Representatives, it is not a huge shocker Schiff would seek a Senate seat. Since the turn over of the House, Schiff  has lost a massive amount of power.

Some sources even say that McCarthy is planning to boot Schiff and several others from their positions on both intel and foreign affairs committees. Check out that claim in the tweet below:

Despite the two people running in the race being Democrats, conservatives may take the announcement with a slight bit of joy even if it is just to see Adam Schiff squirm a little…
