Senator Rubio Drops Dire Warning: The FBI Will Start Targeting Average American Conservatives Next
Has the Rubicon finally been crossed blatantly enough that even average, Conservative, Inc. conservatives realize that we’re not in the 80s anymore and the left is the enemy, rather than simply a political opponent, and so must be defeated if we’re to avoid living in some leftist dictatorship?
Perhaps we’re finally close, as now even Florida Senator Marco Rubio, himself no rock-ribbed conservative in the MAGA mold, appeared on Fox News Channel to argue that the left has brought dictatorship home to America and will start targeting average conservatives next, saying:
“I’m telling you the next thing you’re going to see here, Sean, because it’s the playbook, and that is, they are now going to begin to say, ‘Oh, are these Trump supporters, these Republicans, they’re very upset. They’re saying very angry things. We think they might be a threat. We think they’re radical extremists. Let’s start arresting them.’
“You’re going — the next step in this process is going to be that people who are supporters of Donald Trump’s or just conservatives complaining about this are going to begin to get harassed by — are going to begin to get labeled as potential insurrectionists and are going to begin to get harassed by law enforcement. That’s the next step in this playbook, sadly.”
But the FBI doesn’t want you criticizing it for acting like the Stasi for the Democratic Party, as shown by both AG Garland and Christopher Wray commenting not on the raid itself but rather how “dangerous” “extremist” rhetoric regarding the FBI in the wake of the raid is, as if hurt feelings in Stasi HQ are the real issue rather than tyranny.
Pushing back on that narrative was FNC’s Greg Gutfeld, who blasted that talking point as ridiculous. Speaking on it, Gutfeld said:
“So this idea that we cannot criticize or denigrate anyone for fear that someone else in this country will do something crazy, in two words, screw you. Because that is a trick to shut you up.
“They’re basically saying, ‘how dare you, you can’t do that.’ No, no, no. We actually can. And coming from people in the media who delighted in the orgy of…violence was actually occurring, as the riots were happening, and saying horrible things.
“Then you have the media and the FBI monitoring social media for threats looking at online message boards. That is the equivalent of monitoring every sporting event for heckling. You know?
“If you want to find that threat or opinion or anything, you can find it. I bet I could find a death threat against Dana Perino. I probably could. Probably from Kilmeade. But if you want to look for something like that, you are going to find it. So this is just kind of a way to keep you to — keep you from talking. Amazing story about this is what if nothing is there. What if this really is about bland documents? How bad does Garland look then making a mountain out of a mole hill. If they don’t have a picture of Trump making out with Putin. This is a bust.”
