‘She’s Running’: Hillary Clinton’s Latest Move Sparks Shocking Speculation About 2028
Hillary Clinton, the former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential nominee, is once again at the center of political speculation as she prepares to headline a significant event in Arkansas next month.
On December 7, Clinton will join her husband, former President Bill Clinton, in Little Rock to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Clinton Presidential Center. The event, billed as a reflection on their decades in public service, has drawn heightened attention amid murmurs about her potential return to the political stage.
According to a news release, the Clintons will share their “reflections on the noble and important work of public service — from securing peace, prosperity, and progress during the Clinton administration to uplifting millions of people in Arkansas and around the world through the work of the Clinton Foundation and empowering the next generation of leaders through the Clinton School.”
Admission is free, but seating is limited organizers say. Former President Bill Clinton is set also to visit Little Rock on Dec. 6 as part of his national book tour. The event will take place at the Clinton Presidential Center, which houses a museum dedicated to Clinton’s presidency, an archive of his papers, and the University of Arkansas School of Public Service. The Center is gearing up for a major expansion. The new institute will honor Hillary Clinton’s career.
The development led to widespread speculation on social media about a possible 2028 presidential run. Jason Miller, a senior advisor to Donald Trump, amplified the rumors by posting on X (formerly Twitter), “She’s running!”

While Clinton has made no public declarations of intent to reenter presidential politics, her prominent role at this anniversary gathering has reignited conversations among political analysts and party insiders. Despite the buzz, Clinton has previously stated she has no intention of running for president again.
In an interview with Norah O’Donnell back in September, the anchor and managing editor of “CBS Evening News,” Hillary firmly dismissed the idea of another presidential run, stating “No, no.” She added, “But I’m gonna do everything I can to make sure that we have a president who respects our democracy and the rule of law and upholds our institutions.”
Discussing the potential of a Trump candidacy, Clinton said, “he should be soundly defeated.” She called on the Republican Party to oppose him, saying, “It should start in the Republican Party. Grow a backbone. Stand up to this guy […] And heaven forbid if he gets the nomination, he needs to be defeated roundly and sent back to Mar-a-Lago.”
Following their defeat in the 2024 presidential election, speculation about the Democratic Party’s 2028 nominee has centered around key figures. Vice President Kamala Harris remains a top contender. Other potential candidates include California Governor Gavin Newsom, known for his national presence and debates with GOP leaders; Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, who has gained traction as a rising star; and Maryland Governor Wes Moore, celebrated as a historic and dynamic leader.
Additional names like Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker are also in the mix.
