Snoop Dogg appears to have had a change of heart in regards to former President Donald Trump, telling The Times UK that he has “nothing but love and respect” for the former president.

Snoop Dogg was a fierce critic of Trump throughout his presidency. In one notable instance, the rapper generated controversy after shooting a Trump mannequin in the head during a music video.

Times are changing, however, as the rapper told The Times UK that he now has a positive view of the former president. “Donald Trump? He ain’t done nothing wrong to me. He has done only great things for me,” he said.

The rapper specifically pointed to the time Trump pardoned Michael Harris, the co-founder of Snoop’s first record label, death row. Harris had been in prison for drug-related offenses.

“So I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump,” he added.

The rapper’s dramatic turnaround comes after years of criticism and disses directed at Trump. In 2017, he released a song titled “Make America Crip Again” in a jab at Trump’s campaign slogan. “The president said he wants to make America great again. F*** that s***, we’re going to make America crip again.”

“Certain people feel like we should make America ‘great again,’ but that time they’re referring to always takes me back to separation and segregation, so I’d rather Make America Crip Again,” Snoop Dogg said in a statement at the time. “What I mean by that is, in my lifetime, that’s when young Black men in impoverished areas organised to help their communities and to take care of their own because society basically left them for dead.”

In 2018, Snoop posted a video in which he could be seen smoking a blunt outside the White House while saying “f**k the president.”
