‘Sociopath’: Kamala Under Fire For Shocking Comments
Vice President Kamala Harris is receiving blowback for recent comments about former President Jimmy Carter that some online critics say are borderline sociopathic.
The Democrat spent Saturday energizing party faithful in Georgia where Carter served as governor from 1971 to 1975 before winning the presidency. In between calling former President Donald Trump “cruel” and a threat to reproductive freedoms, she made mention of Carter’s 100th birthday and mailing in his ballot this month for Harris. “If Jimmy Carter can vote early, you can too!” she yelled with a maniacal laugh. Some X users contrasted Harris’s reference to Carter with video footage of the elderly former president in his fugue state today.

“This is psycho level s***,” conservative commentator Dave Rubin wrote. One follower replied, “It’s disgusting, disrespectful and shows how uncaring she is. She gives off sociopath vibes.” Others blamed Carter’s kin for carting him around on his deathbed. “Shame on the Carter family for allowing this man to be displayed like this. Disgusting,” another wrote.

President Carter voted on October 16th, two weeks after he turned 100. More than 1.2 million ballots have been cast early in Georgia, according to NPR, and Democrats are hoping the image of a frail Carter will boost turnout among crucial voting blocs, especially in the Atlanta area. While there, Vice President Harris leaned into her star power circles. She was joined onstage by singer Usher in Atlanta and later teamed up with Lizzo in Detroit, Michigan. “All the best things were made in Detroit. Coney Dogs, Faygo and Lizzo,” the singer joked to a rally crowd.
Despite highlighting the elderly former president’s ability to vote despite not waking up some days, according to his family, Harris lit into President Trump for his age. “Somebody just needs to watch his rallies, if you’re not really sure how to vote,” she said in Detroit over the weekend. Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Whatley shot back that Harris was relying on celebrities like Lizzo “to hide the fact that Michiganders were feeling good under President Trump – real wages were higher, prices were lower, and everyone was better off.”
President Trump has also pointed to Harris’s signature laugh as a sign that something is not right with his opponent. “Have you heard her laugh? That is the laugh of a crazy person,” he told a Pennsylvania audience back in September. “It’s the laugh of a lunatic.”
In private meetings, Trump has ripped his rival as reportedly “retarded” when asked about the state of the race and concerns about her ability to raise large sums in the weeks leading up to Election Day. He doubled down on that statement during another public event in Pennsylvania where he judged Harris to be “mentally impaired,” according to CNN. Asked for comment, the Trump campaign retorted that Harris was the first one to question his cognition in 2019 when she responded “well said” to a question from an audience member who asked if she thought Trump was “mentally retarded.”
