‘Squad’ Congresswoman Blames Trump For Plane Crash, Immediately Regrets It

A fresh round of finger-pointing boomeranged on a “Squad” member of Congress after she blamed President Donald Trump for issuing an executive order she said led to the fatal aircraft collision over Washington, D.C., on Wednesday night.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) lit into the president after initially calling for calm, telling her social media followers that “no one knows what caused” the tragic accident over Reagan International Airport.

“Investigations are ongoing, and no one – not Donald Trump or anyone else – should be drawing conclusions until all the facts have been released,” she started. But the blame game quickly commenced.

“On his first day in office, Donald Trump froze the hiring of federal employees—including air traffic controllers,” asserted the Democrat, linking to a White House web page outlining President Trump’s decision to pause hiring across the federal government. She went on to blame Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency for firing the head of the Federal Aviation Administration the prior day.

President Trump’s orbit picked up on the accusation and shut it down.

A rapid response account for the White House replied to Crockett, “Wrong. Federal air traffic controllers are EXEMPT from the hiring freeze. Stop lying.”

The president’s accusation that diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the FAA may have played a role in the crash between a commercial aircraft and an Army helicopter appears to have struck a nerve with Crockett. The congresswoman, who is Black, publicly lost her composure last week while debating the merits of DEI policies in the Los Angeles Fire Department.

In the middle of percolating theories about the cause of the crash, President Trump on Friday announced findings that the Army Black Hawk, a UH-60 helicopter Sikorsky UH-60 helicopter, was flying “far above the 200-foot limit” set for helicopters above Washington, D.C.

That’s not really too complicated to understand, is it???” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Liberals like Rep. Crockett were fuming at President Trump’s suggestion Thursday that the policies of the Biden-Harris administration could have compromised the airport’s control tower. Elon Musk furthered his claim on X, while others rushed to point out that the same policies were in place during his first administration.

Todd Inman, a member of the National Transportation Safety Board, confirmed that authorities are in possession of black boxes from the aircraft.

“Right now, we’ve not ruled anything in or out,” he told Fox regarding the causes of the crash. “But I would be very careful to anyone who’s listening to this to rely upon off the shelf software, speculation they’re seeing online. Our job is to get the absolute facts as we get these [black] boxes in and get them analyzed and we look at more granular data, will be able to give a much better picture on that.”
