Stephen A. Smith SHREDS Kamala Harris For ‘Hiding’ From Americans In Epic Rant

Renowned commentator Stephen A. Smith didn’t mince words when discussing Vice President Kamala Harris’s absence from the public eye, particularly with the press. Known for his candid takes beyond sports, Smith dove into the political arena with a critique that resonated with many of his listeners.

Smith highlighted Harris’s recent visibility—or lack thereof—since Joe Biden endorsed her after stepping down from the 2024 presidential race. “The only damn place we’ve seen Kamala Harris is at these pep rallies,” Smith pointed out. “Not one single press conference, not one single one-on-one sit-down interview where somebody gets to question you about the questions that we ask. That’s not fair.”

“It is perfectly within your right to ask her about her record because she is attached to the Biden record, which is definitely apropos, especially when you were bragging about the record,” he said. Smith’s roast extended to the Democrat Party’s strategy, questioning the absence of a primary challenge and the implications for democratic processes. “We didn’t really get to make that choice about Joe Biden because there was no primary,” he argued.

“I cannot stand, I adamantly despise athletes, youngsters being held accountable to the degree that politicians are held accountable,” he said. “But enough of this with the rallies, the scouts, I don’t care that 15,000 people showed up,” he said. “I wanna see some damn interviews. I wanna see you answer some questions.”

People nationwide have been commenting on Vice President Harris’s avoidance of the media, now ongoing since her presidential campaign kicked off 24 days ago. Even Elon Musk has offered Harris an opportunity to join him for an interview, following his recent discussion on X with former President Donald Trump on Monday night. The pressure is mounting for Harris to engage directly with the media, as her silence has not gone unnoticed—even by traditionally liberal outlets.

On Tuesday CNN’s Chris Cillizza pointed out the alarming silence from the Vice President since her formal nomination on his X account: “It’s been 23 days since Joe Biden ended his candidacy. It’s been 7 days since Kamala Harris was formally named the Democratic presidential nominee. She has yet to sit for an interview with ANY media outlet. And she has answered less than 5 total questions from the press.”

Harris has the capability to arrange a sit-down interview with a major TV network or newspaper on short notice, likely within an hour or two, given her high-profile status and the media’s interest in her. While Trump’s dialogue with Musk showed his readiness to leverage media platforms to reinforce his political narrative, Harris’s absence has left a void filled with uncertainty and frustration among journalists. This has led to questions about her approach to transparency and accountability, critical factors that voters consider when heading to the polls.

Harris will hope to maintain her dominance in the media cycle at next week’s Democratic National Convention in Chicago where she will formally become the party’s nominee. Officials are preparing for a riotous series of protests that continue to push progressives to vote “uncommitted” in November, a signal that their anti-Israel movement hasn’t changed with the rise of Harris, who they still hold responsible for Biden’s positions.
