Stephen Miller Brutally Fact-Checks Fox News Host: ‘It’s All Wrong’
White House policy advisor Stephen Miller didn’t hold back during a fiery exchange on Fox News, sharply correcting host Bill Hemmer over the deportation of an alleged MS-13 gang member, calling out what he described as a flood of misinformation in the media. The segment, which aired Monday, centered around the case of Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, an El Salvadoran national who was deported under the Trump administration.
Some have suggested the deportation was a mistake, but Miller called that narrative flat-out false. “I hate to do it, Bill, but I got to correct you on every single thing that you said, because it was all wrong,” Miller told Hemmer during the on-air segment.
From there, Miller launched into a detailed breakdown of the case and the legal precedent backing the administration’s actions. According to Miller, the deportation of Abrego Garcia was fully legal and justified.
He explained that the Supreme Court made it crystal clear that no lower court can order the president to exercise Article II powers in any specific way. “[The] DOJ called me after that Supreme Court ruling, and they said, ‘This is amazing.'”
“We won this case 9-0. We are in excellent standing here.” The Trump advisor also pushed back on the claim that Abrego Garcia was mistakenly deported. “He was not mistakenly sent to El Salvador. He’s an illegal alien from El Salvador,” Miller said.
At one point, Hemmer attempted to press Miller on whether the administration still believed Abrego Garcia was an MS-13 member, asking, “Are you convinced he is still a member of MS-13?”

“Yes, not only am I convinced of it, not only is El Salvador convinced of it, Bill, he’s an illegal alien from El Salvador with the deportation order,” he responded. “So his only options in life, Bill, his only options in life are to be deported to El Salvador or to be deported to some other country.”
The argument reached a boiling point when Hemmer attempted to pivot, but Miller cut him off, challenging the logic behind the media’s outrage. “Bill, you tell me, what country should we deport him to? Tell me, please. Tell me!”
According to Miller, the case has been widely misrepresented, including by a Department of Justice lawyer who allegedly labeled the deportation a mistake—something Miller dismissed outright, calling the lawyer a “saboteur” who has since been relieved of duty. The clash stood out as one of the more tense moments between a Fox News host and a senior Trump administration official.
Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran national, became the center of a legal and political controversy following his deportation from the United States to El Salvador on March 15. He was sent to El Salvador’s high-security Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT).
In 2019, an immigration judge granted him “withholding of removal” status. The deportation sparked legal battles, with a U.S. District Judge ordering the government to facilitate his return. El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele refused to release Abrego Garcia, labeling him a “terrorist,” despite no criminal convictions.
