Steve Bannon Just Got Sentenced To Prison For Contempt Of Congress; Here’s How Long They Gave Him

Former White House official Steve Bannon has now been sentenced to four months in prison and a fine of $6,500 for contempt of Congress. Bannon was found guilty of contempt of Congress back in July for ignoring a subpoena that was issued by the House Jan. 6 Committee. And the witch hunt against Trump and his supporters being carried out by progressive elements in the government continues.

According to Fox News, Bannon has been released pending an appeal. However, if there is no appeal made, the former Trump official will have to surrender voluntarily by Nov. 15, U.S. Judge Carl Nichols said.

“The Justice Department had recommended a six-month prison sentence and a $200,000 fine for former Trump aide Steve Bannon due to his failure to comply with a subpoena to appear before the House Select Committee investigating January 6,” the report stated.

“I want to thank all you guys for coming,” Bannon went on to say as he entered the courthouse Friday. “Remember this illegitimate regime, their judgment day is on eight November when the Biden administration ends. I want to thank you all for coming.”

He then added, “And remember, take down the CCP. Thank you.”

Federal prosecutors in the case, eager to drop the hammer on a deeply devoted Trump supporter, pushed for Bannon to be tossed in the slammer for at least six months, citing his “bad faith” behavior in and out of court.

“From the moment that the Defendant, Stephen K. Bannon, accepted service of a subpoena from the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol, he has pursued a bad-faith strategy of defiance and contempt,” federal prosecutors stated in their case on Monday.

The prosecutors then said, “The Committee sought documents and testimony from the Defendant relevant to a matter of national importance: the circumstances that led to a violent attack on the Capitol and disruption of the peaceful transfer of power. In response, the Defendant flouted the Committee’s authority and ignored the subpoena’s demands.”

“Bannon claimed executive privilege precluded him from appearing before the committee to talk about the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, though prosecutors noted that he left the White House in 2017,” Fox News reported.

At the end of the day, this whole thing with the January 6th committee seems to be less about getting to the truth about what happened on that day and more about finding sneaky methods of persecuting Trump supporters in order to strike fear in the masses and dissuade them from backing him in case he runs in 2024.

That may sound like a stretch to some, but anyone who has been paying attention to the happenings going down in the country will see that the evidence definitely supports such a theory. It’s quite clear that the Biden regime is terrified of Trump and the Americans who support him and his agenda for the nation.

This likely has to do with the fact that putting our country first and upholding the values that have led to the United States becoming the greatest nation in history would obliterate their false hopes of creating a utopian society based on the principles of Marxism.
