“The Sandlot” star Tom Guiry, who is best known for playing Scott Smalls in the coming of age baseball classic, was arrested for alleged assault and malicious damage in early June.

Guiry, 42, was arrested on June 2 following an incident in which he allegedly through a dumbbell at his neighbor’s jeep, according to the Horry County Sheriff’s Office in Conway, South Carolina.

It is unclear what led to the incident, though security camera footage obtained by TMZ appears to show a man who resembles Guiry throwing a dumbbell onto the windshield of a white jeep.

The actor can be seen bringing the dumbbell behind his head before slamming it down on the vehicle, causing the windshield to shatter. He then walked back inside his home while the dumbbell rolled off the hood and crashed onto the ground.

Guiry was ultimately arrested on June 2 after officers responded to a disturbance call and found him in the middle of the street. Police told TMZ that after they started talking to Guiry about a situation involving his wife, the neighbor came out and noticed the damage to his vehicle. “Really? My window’s been shattered,” the man reportedly said.

“That sucks man, I’ll pay you back, I’m sorry, I’m gonna get you back,” the actor then replied, according to the Horry County Sheriff’s office. Guiry then, according to police, excitedly declared, “I did it. I’m sorry man. I’m coming back to get you … I … sorry brother, I’ll pay you back.”

The victim also told police that Tom had also approached his door with a knife in hand. Security camera footage obtained by TMZ appears to back up the victim’s claim.

Tom was ultimately arrested and charged with assault, disorderly conduct and malicious damage.

The incident is not Guiry’s first encounter with law enforcement. In 2013, he was arrested after allegedly head-butting and attempting to kick a police officer in the face in Texas.

In addition to “The Sandlot,” Guiry’s acting credits include appearances in a number of highly regarded films, including “Black Hawk Down,” “Mystic River” and “The Revenant.”
