‘The View’ Co-Host Melts Down, Claims Deporting Illegals Will Make Eggs More Expensive

CNN gave The View co-host Ana Navarro the mic this week, and she wasted no time launching into a dramatic warning. Navarro argued that deporting illegal immigrants—many of whom work off the books in agriculture and hospitality—would supposedly trigger a spike in prices for milk, vegetables, and other staples.

“What’s gonna happen here is that we’re going to find that milk gets a lot higher, because—I don’t know if any of you have ever been on a dairy farm—it is god-awful work,” she said. “We’re gonna see that groceries and vegetables are higher.”

“We’re going to see an effect in our economy, because whether people like it or not, whether Americans acknowledge it or not, undocumented immigrants are an integral part of our society and our economy,” the television show host claimed.

Navarro finished, “We’re going to have to get used to seeing the videos of U.S. citizens detained, of U.S. citizen children being ripped from the arms of their mothers while they wail, of, you know, dads and moms and business owners.”

Missing from her CNN appearance was any mention of the toll illegal immigration takes on American workers—particularly legal immigrants and blue-collar citizens whose wages are driven down by off-the-books labor. While Navarro paints a dire picture of grocery aisles and family separations, real-world data tells a different story. Grocery prices have been falling in recent months, with the cost of eggs and other essentials dropping at their fastest rate in years.

According to the Consumer Price Index, milk prices have remained relatively stable, averaging around $4.02 per gallon in May, down slightly from April.

Dairy products overall dipped 0.1% in May but are up 1.7% over the past year. Eggs continue to be the most volatile, with prices dropping 2.7% in May but still up over 40% compared to last year. Meats, poultry, and fish are up 6.1% year-over-year, while fruits and vegetables are slightly down for the year but rose 0.3% last month.

Navarro’s comments come just as President Donald Trump signals a renewed push to enforce immigration laws, crack down on sanctuary cities, and restore border security.

The Department of Homeland Security confirmed Tuesday that illegal immigrants employed in sectors like agriculture and hospitality are still subject to enforcement by ICE, despite speculation of a temporary shift in focus. The clarification comes after President Trump suggested that upcoming operations may prioritize sanctuary cities instead.

“Our great Farmers and people in the Hotel and Leisure business have been stating that our very aggressive policy on immigration is taking very good, long time workers away from them, with those jobs being almost impossible to replace,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “In many cases the Criminals allowed into our Country by the VERY Stupid Biden Open Borders Policy are applying for those jobs. This is not good. We must protect our Farmers, but get the CRIMINALS OUT OF THE USA. Changes are coming!”
