Tim Walz Admits To An ‘Unhealthy’ Obsession With Elon Musk

Tim Walz’s one-man crusade against Elon Musk is starting to get a little “unhealthy,” he admitted.

One week after chastising the Trump advisor as a “South African nepo baby,” Walz turned over a new leaf, saying at a recent town hall audience that he’s developed an “unhealthy” obsession with Musk.

“Look, I have been at it with this guy, and I just want to be clear: All of you know me, and I own this or whatever,” the Minnesota governor said when asked about what can be done to stop or slow down Musk’s cost-cutting overhaul of the federal government.

“This guy bugs me in a way that’s probably unhealthy.”

Walz’s startling admission followed an “idiotic outburst” he apologized for during a speech last week where he pulled out his phone to prove that he cheers every time Tesla’s stock goes down. The electric vehicle company was founded by Musk and has been the target of violent vandalism across the country.

“Some of you know this. On the iPhone, they’ve got that little stock app. I added Tesla to it to give me a little boost during the day — $225 and dropping,” Walz said during a separate event last week. “And if you own one, we’re not blaming you. You can take dental floss and pull the Tesla thing off.”

Critics of Walz were quick to pounce on his latest chapter of self-discovery.

“Hey @Tim_Walz, have you checked your little stock app this morning?” gloated MAGA influencer Alex Lorusso upon news Monday that the company’s stock had surged by $50 per share over the past week.

After receiving blowback, Gov. Walz complained that Trump supporters “have no sense of humor” and that he was kidding about cheering for the destruction of Tesla vehicles everywhere.

“I have to be careful about being a smarta**. I was making a joke. These people have no sense of humor. They are the most literal people,” Walz said during the speech.

“But my point was, they’re all mad, and I said something I probably shouldn’t have about a company,” he continued.

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi has promised to bring charges against any criminals caught vandalizing Tesla dealerships, up to and including terrorism. President Donald Trump has gotten in on the mayhem as well.

Earlier this month, he and Musk held an event in front of the White House flanked by Teslas where Trump encouraged Americans to finance a vehicle for “as low as $299 a month.”

Whatever his latest pronouncements, Walz was authoritative when he originally said that Musk and Trump are more focused on protecting Tesla cars than government workers who have been laid off.

“They’re all butthurt about the Tesla thing, but they don’t care about the disrespect they have shown to employees at the Minneapolis VA who care for our veterans, and they fire them. They don’t care,” the governor said, according to the NY Post.

“Maybe it’s just me. If I’m the richest man in the world, I’m like out on the streets handing out money,” he added. “It’d be fun as hell just to help people out. Go help people out. Not this guy.”
