Tim Walz Eats His Words After New Video Reveals Stunning Hypocrisy

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz isn’t ready to give up the spotlight since hitching his wagon to the failed candidacy of former Vice President Kamala Harris. But the longer he hangs around, the easier it becomes to parody him.

The midwestern Democrat recently joined Rachel Maddow to repeat the mainstream media’s suggestion that Elon Musk surreptitiously delivered a Nazi salute during a rally on the eve of President Donald Trump’s inauguration. Low-hanging fruit for any Democrat, to be sure, but it wasn’t long before Walz was taking flak for making a similar gesture during the campaign.

“We spent three days, you know, three days, having them try to debate that President Musk gave a Nazi salute. Of course he did!” exclaimed Walz as he dutifully cheerled for Democrats to rise up and resist the Trump administration.

Three days after the controversy around Musk, internet sleuths resurfaced footage of Walz appearing to perform the same gesture that got the billionaire entrepreneur in hot water. Walz can be seen on-stage with Harris at a Philadelphia rally. In a clip circulated by a popular pro-Trump account, the governor places his hand over his heart and extends his arm out to the crowd, a universal gesture of appreciation.

“Where was the media and the Democrats’ outrage when Tim Walz performed a ‘Nazi salute’?” read the post, which has gotten more than 1.4 million views since uploaded on January 22nd.

Musk has not been met with universal criticism from the left, compounding the confusion around whether Democrats want to die on a molehill that is supremely small compared to the sweeping reforms the Trump administration continues to implement in its second week. Shortly after Musk’s gesture, the Anti-Defamation League posted that the “awkward” hand movement was not a Nazi salute and encouraged everyone to calm down.

“In this moment, all sides should give one another a bit of grace, perhaps even the benefit of the doubt, and take a breath. This is a new beginning. Let’s hope for healing and work toward unity in the months and years ahead,” the typically liberal group said in a statement.

That prompted a rebuke from “Squad” member Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-NY), who felt her time was best served fanning the flames.

“Just to be clear, you are defending a Heil Hitler salute that was performed and repeated for emphasis and clarity,” she replied on X. “People can officially stop listening to you as any sort of reputable source of information now. You work for them. Thank you for making that crystal clear to all.”

Others were quick to find photographs of Hillary Clinton, former President Barack Obama, and Harris all making similar gestures on stage, an indication that any further disingenuous games played around Musk’s speech that day will likely be fought to a draw.
