Tommy Tuberville UNLOADS On Democrats For Trump Witch Hunts Outside Courthouse: ‘Give Him Some Respect’

Outside a New York courthouse, Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) gave his strong support for former President Donald Trump amid his ongoing legal battle, criticizing the treatment Trump has received during his trial. The trial involves allegations that Trump falsified business records to cover up hush money payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 presidential election. Trump has denied the charges, pleading not guilty to 34 counts.

Visibly frustrated by the atmosphere within the courtroom, Tuberville called for more respect for Trump, emphasizing his status as a former president. “First of all, I’m disappointed in the courtroom. I’m hearing, ‘Mr. Trump, Mr. Trump.’ He is former President Trump. Give him some respect!”

“This is New York City, the icon of our country, and we got a courtroom that’s the most depressing thing I’ve ever been in. Mental anguish is trying to be pushed on the Republican candidate for the president of the United States this year. That’s all this is. He’s been here a month.”

Tuberville’s courthouse remarks also targeted the prosecutorial approach, likening DA Bragg’s demeanor to someone treating the trial as their personal highlight, much like the Super Bowl. “And I guess it is, to be noticed. But that’s what’s happening in this country.”

Despite the political and legal storm, Tuberville stood firm in his personal and political support for Trump. “I’m glad to stand by President Trump. I’m a friend of his. I’m here more as a friend than a back of him as candidate, as president.”

As Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s team nears the end of its witness list, the focus is shifting to Trump’s defense. The trial has garnered extensive media coverage, partly due to the involvement of Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen, as a key witness.

During the 16th day of the trial, Cohen revealed he had secretly recorded Trump discussing payments related to the 2016 election. The recording, made on September 6, 2016, captured a conversation about reimbursing David Pecker, the former publisher of the National Enquirer. According to Cohen’s testimony on Monday, the payment involved was made to former Playboy model Karen McDougal.

Pecker had paid McDougal $150,000 to acquire her story of an alleged affair with Trump and to prevent it from influencing the election. Cohen testified that Pecker insisted Trump needed to repay him, prompting Cohen to make the secret recording as evidence of Trump’s intent to settle the debt. Cohen also suggested that recording the conversation served a dual purpose: ensuring Pecker’s continued loyalty to Trump and reassuring him of repayment.  In the recording, Trump’s voice can be heard questioning the cost: “So what do we got to pay for this? One-fifty?”

Tuberville also discussed his skepticism about the credibility of Cohen during his outside the courthouse. He criticized Cohen, calling him a “serial liar.”

“This guy worked for President Trump. I mean, how can you be convinced by somebody that is a serial liar? I mean, there should be no reason that anybody should listen to this guy.”
